Many OSes, one partitionLocal firm ASPLinux is offering a new software which promises easier and safer installation of multiple operating systems. It is distributing the new Acronis OS Selector Deluxe 5.0, a partitioning and multibooting software which allows a user to easily switch between operating system. The software supports FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, Linux Ext2 and ResierFS file systems and Linux Swap partition, allowing a user to perform any partitioning operations without data loss. Other partition types are supported through sector-by-sector copying and moving. OS Selector Deluxe also lets users edit hard drives. Users can view and edit the contents of hard drives and partitions with a built-in-multi-window Disk Editor. For Windows 9x and ME users, a Windows Installation Wizard makes it easy to install and upgrade the OS. It allows for the Windows OS to be installed onto an extended or logical partition. In addition, a user can install multiple Win9x, ME NT, and 2000 onto the single FAT partition. OS Selector can back up and restore the original system environment whenever the PC boots up.
The software is targeted at businesses which want to multiple OS support. It is available this week for US$49 (S$89).
