November 8, 2005, South San Francisco, CA — Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, unveiled Acronis Disk Director Server, an advanced disk management application to manage corporate servers. The company also unveiled its, next-generation of the Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0 for desktop systems, which provides users with enhanced partition management and multibooting capabilities.

"Acronis Disk Director Server marks the company's initial entry into server-based disk management," said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Having an easy to use product to create separate partitions for the operating system, applications and user specific data significantly improves performance, manageability and recoverability of data and systems. This makes Acronis Disk Director the ideal companion tool for our award-winning Acronis True Image for servers and workstations. Using the combination of both products IT managers now can create a backup image of the system partition and then regularly backup user data on a file or partition level providing significant time and storage space savings."

New features in Acronis Disk Director Server and Acronis Disk Director Suite include wizards to explore and edit data and the partition's structure, split partition, and merge partitions. Enhanced features also include booting from a second hard disk drive, booting from a CD or DVD, and enhanced operating system detection that can locate deleted operating systems.

"With Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0, users no longer have to choose between having a system configured the way they want it or having a technician do the task," said Stephen Lawton, Acronis director of marketing. "User-friendly wizards and powerful step-by-step operations mean that any user can repartition and manipulate monster hard disks or run multiple operating systems — even multiple versions of Windows.

"Acronis is dedicated to providing these tools to ensure that every user, from novice to engineer, can take advantage of these latest technological advances," he continued.
