2012 – Another Great Year for Acronis’ Channel

This past year has been one of the most successful in Acronis’ history – and much of that success would not have been possible without our strong channel partner program. In 2012, our partner community grew significantly – from January to October alone, we added 735 new partners, and, from the first half to the second half of the year, we saw a 40 percent increase in partner deal registrations!

But, looking back, it’s not just about the numbers. It’s what those numbers represent and the accomplishments and new initiatives that went alongside them.

In 2012, our channel team was successfully able to enter the $109 billion global cloud services market by establishing our own cloud services through the channel. The latest release of our Acronis Backup and Recovery® product now features remote access to cloud backup from any Web device, and disk-to-disk-to-cloud staging for faster backup capabilities. This gives our partner community a new edge in data protection by allowing them to better leverage the cloud for backup and recovery.

Further to this, we were also able to establish an incumbency program for renewals and subscriptions. This served to more effectively protect margins for incumbent resellers, enhance the opportunity for registration and tie it to lead generation activities. It also helped further establish our redevelopment team tied to channel redistribution. All of this combined has had a significant, positive impact on our company’s partner community.

Finally, in 2012, we were also quite pleased with the establishment of a dedicated Lead Development Team, which is measured on successfully qualifying opportunities and handing them over to our strategic partners. As a channel-led company, that means that all qualified opportunities we obtain are passed on to our partners to further their business and growth in a truly mutually beneficial relationship.

Now, as we look ahead to 2013, we have a lot already in the works, including further product integration of our recently acquired company, GroupLogic, into the channel. And, with 2012 coming to a close, we feel confident about our accomplishments and are ready to face the next big challenge!
