Acronis launches new online store with the help of e-commerce outsourcer, Digital River

Award-winning disk utilities for the novice to expert now available at nearly 600 e-stores of major national and regional retailers

March 25, 2003, South San Francisco — Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in systems software development, announced it has significantly improved its Web store's transaction capabilities, marketing tools and system performance with the signing of a new e-commerce partner, Digital River, Inc. (NASDAQ: DRIV), a global leader in e-commerce outsourcing.

Based on the agreement, Digital River built Acronis' new e-commerce site, located at www.acronis.com. In addition to hosting and managing the new site, Digital River, is leveraging its network of more than 600 online retailers to open third-party sales channels for Acronis' full line of disk utilities. Digital River's online retailer network includes local and regional retailers as well as national retailers such as Staples.com.

"Our online business was growing beyond capacity," said Max Tsypliaev, president of Acronis, Inc. "With the new e-commerce store, users will have the ability to buy either retail boxed or downloadable versions of our award-winning utilities and we will be able to sustain our high volume of transactions quickly and accurately. Ultimately, this partnership with Digital River will allow us to provide the best possible customer service to our users."

"We will use the robust e-commerce system and best practices that we have developed to help Acronis achieve its online business goals," said Jay Kerutis, Digital River's president of Software and Digital Commerce Services. "While our world-class e-commerce platform provides Acronis with the stability and scalability needed to successfully manage increasing traffic levels, our e-marketing services can help them capitalize on them. Our e-marketing services can help Acronis increase the exposure of its products via online promotions, e-mail campaigns and partnerships with our online retail clients."

Among the company's products are Acronis True Image 6.0, a disk imaging and back-up-and-restore program; PartitionExpert 2003, a disk partitioning utility; Acronis OS Selector 8.0, a multiboot manager; Acronis MigrateEasy 6.0, a disk deployment program; Acronis Privacy Expert 2003, a program that securely and completely deletes all traces of your Internet surfing and Windows system data pertaining to programs you've opened; Acronis DiskCleanser 6.0, a program that completely and securely wipes a disk drive of all data; Acronis DiskEditor 6.0, a program that lets you edit your hard disk and partition data manually; and Acronis PowerUtilities 2003, a value suite of some of Acronis' most popular security tools, as well as several tools exclusive to this retail product.

In addition to buying products online at the Acronis site, users can also find Acronis' products at international retail outlets, including U. S. retailers such as Fry's Electronics, CompUSA, Best Buy, Micro Center, Hastings, J&R Computer World and Central Computer. Acronis also sells products through a variety of online resellers, including Amazon.com, PC Mall, Cheap Bytes and Linux Central.

"Customers really appreciate the product information, presentation and inclusion of prices that allows them to get a meaningful understanding of how they can use the products," continued Tsypliaev. "Since we focus on building products for users with a variety of experience levels — from regular PC users to experts — the product information needs to describe clearly what the users can do and how they can do it. Plus, we now can provide users with the choice of buying a boxed product or a software download. It's the ultimate in convenience."
