SonicWALL CDP Bare-metal Restore Offering to Be Powered by Acronis

Acronis True Image preinstalled in SonicWALL's Continuous Data Protection products

Burlington, MA., March 21, 2006, — Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, announced it has signed an OEM agreement with SonicWALL, Inc. (NASDAQ:SNWL) to provide Acronis True Image with SonicWALL's recently-announced Continuous Data Protection (CDP) Solution Series. Acronis True Image will be a primary component of SonicWALL's Bare-metal Recovery/Local Archiving solution for servers and workstations.

SonicWALL CDP delivers protection for data stored on servers, desktop PCs, and laptops, providing simple and effective secure backup that avoids the complexity and inefficiency of tape, and easy recovery of data in the event of disasters. The solution features secure automatic, disk to disk local and offsite data protection, instant recovery and central or remote administrative capabilities. The Bare-metal Recovery capability is the newest enhancement to SonicWALL CDP solutions, launched in February this year following the company's November 2005 acquisition of Lasso Logic, the developer of Lasso CDP.

"The SonicWall CDP with Bare Metal Recovery is a powerful enhancement to an already outstanding product, and end-users are very excited about this additional feature," said Thomas Tay of Hawaii Multimedia Corporation, a SonicWALL reseller. "This enhancement will certainly improve total effectiveness and reliability of data protection and recovery."

"Acronis True Image is a natural, complementary technology for our CDP offering," said Steve Goodman, vice president, SonicWALL CDP business. "Its exemplary bare-metal recovery capabilities provide world-class enhancements to any mission-critical backup and recovery plan. Users want solutions that allow them to reduce operating expenses, reduce risk, and increase reliability. The combined technologies will provide an even more compelling offering for our customers," Goodman continued.

"The SonicWALL CDP and Bare-metal Restore/Local Archiving solution provides users with an exceptional business continuity solution and Acronis True Image will allow users to meet your recovery point objectives," said Luis Andrade, director of OEM sales and new business development for Acronis. "Not only will the SonicWALL and Acronis solution allow users to do full bare-metal restores, but Acronis also allows the user to select a point-in-time restore using a combination of full, incremental and differential backup images. This hardware/software combination is sure to become a must-have solution for servers and workstations."

"Acronis is also proud to announce that this will be the first enterprise-class hardware offering to bear the new Powered by Acronis True Image logo," he added. "Acronis software is preinstalled and bundled in many hardware vendors' products, but this marks the first time that a hardware device will carry the logo on every screen."

Terms of the agreement were not released.
