Limitations on LVM support in Acronis True Image Echo Server for Linux

This article applies to:

Description

The current version of Acronis True Image Echo supports backup of LVM partitions on systems with 2.6 kernels only. You can create an image of an LVM volume and restore it to a partition or to a previously created volume.

When working from Acronus Bootable Rescue Media, it is possible to restore the image of an LVM volume to a regular partition or to an existing LVM volume only. If you are going to restore an LVM volume to a hard drive without LVM, the backup will be restored as a regular non-LVM partition.

More information

You cannot create LVM volumes using Acronis True Image Echo bootable rescue media.

(!) Acronis Bootable Media of Acronis True Image Echo Enterprise Server can restore LVM volumes only as basic disks.

(!) Acronis Bootable Rescue Media and Linux Agent of Acronis True Image Echo Build 8163 as well as Acronis True Image Server for Linux do not support LVM volumes. The issue will be fixed in the next update.
