This article describes the compatibility of Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server with other Acronis products

Description

Unlike other Acronis backup software, Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server does not back up data on the physical level, but gets the data stream logically. Thus, it does not back up any files or applications, but only the data in a current instance of SQL Server.

Since different backup technology is used, images of Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server are not compatible with any other Acronis backup software, in spite of the fact that they have the same .tib extension.

Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server Management Console is compatible with the following products and their components:

  • Acronis True Image Echo (any edition)
  • Acronis True Image 9.1 (any edition)
  • Acronis True Image Home (any version)

Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server Agent is compatible with the following products and their components:

  • Acronis True Image Echo (any edition)
  • Acronis True Image Home (any version)

(!) Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server Agent is not compatible with Local Version or Agent of Acronis True Image 9.1 (any edition). But it can still be successfully installed and used on the same machine with Acronis True Image 9.1 Management Console.

More information

Acronis Recovery for MS SQL Server supports backing up to Acronis Backup Server of Acronis True Image Echo only.
