COMCOR Selects Acronis for Enterprise-Level Disaster Recovery
Ease Of Use And Administration, Plus Robust Feature Set Key To Selection Process
September 6, 2005, South San Francisco, CA Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, announced that COMCOR Inc., one of the largest community corrections programs in Colorado, has selected Acronis True Image Enterprise Server as its disaster recovery solution for its mission-critical servers. "COMCOR is a non-profit organization that provides the link between the criminal justice system and successful rehabilitation of offender populations," said Peter Philbrick, director of information technology. "As such, we have requirements for our mission-critical servers that go well beyond just keeping our e-mail or databases up and running. "Because of our special relationship with our communities, we needed to make sure that our servers are protected in case of a system failure. We needed a tool that we could use to clone servers and do a bare-metal restore if necessary," he added. "Ease of administration was also critical. We needed a program that just worked and didn't take a huge learning curve or lots of separate modules to buy before it would do what we needed. Acronis met and exceeded our expectations." "Acronis recognizes that government and quasi-government organizations are working today with fewer IT staffers and tighter budgets while managing increased hardware resources and significantly more data," said Max Tsypliaev, CEO of Acronis. "Acronis provides a disaster recovery solution that minimizes training and management plus maximizes the IT budget. "By providing a single-product enterprise-class backup and disaster recovery solution," he continued, "we are able to offer maximum flexibility for both the IT staff and those managing corporate resources, be they IT or funding resources." "Acronis enjoys a special relationship with government agencies worldwide," added Stephen Lawton, Acronis director of marketing. "Be they agencies of the U.S. government, city governments in the United Kingdom or simply local county agencies, these organizations have special needs for their citizen constituents and Acronis is proud to provide the highest quality disaster recovery solution that meets their particular requirements." Terms of the agreement were not released.
