New system management player eyes AsiaSINGAPORE: Systems and storage management solutions provider Acronis
Inc has opened an office here to promote and support its products in
Asia. "Acronis views Asia as one of the largest and fastest growing market
for our suite of solutions," said Laurent Dedenis, general manager of
Acronis Asia (www.acronis.com/asia).
"Singapore is our first direct step in Asia, and we are committed to
developing our presence further across South-East Asia and Asia. "We will be recruiting authorised resellers and distributors to
enhance our existing partner network in key countries like Singapore,
Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Thailand in the
initial development stage," he said in a statement issued by his
company. Acronis said it offers technically-advanced storage management
solutions for mission-critical applications, but claimed they are easy
to use. Its solutions include disaster recovery, backup and restore,
partitioning, boot management, privacy, data migration and other apps
for enterprises, corporations and consumers. Acronis True Imageis a realtime disk backup, imaging and
disaster recovery solution that features the Acronis Drive Snapshot
disk-imaging technology. It works on any Windows and Linux environment and will help users
and organisations to protect their data and minimise downtime, the
company claimed. True Imageprotects the entire PC, even when ordinary file
backup software does not work. It saves the disk image -- the exact
copy of the hard disk including operating systems, programs, data,
settings, and everything else, for complete backup. If a failure occurs, users can restore either the entire disk's
contents or individual files. Acronis Privacy Expert Suiteis designed to keep data
private when other people already have physical access to the system.
It erases Internet traces, obliterates computing traces, securely wipes
confidential data, prevents browser hijacking and data theft, and
blocks pop-up ads, the company said It allows the users to clean traces of file searches on hard disks,
including networked drives, Internet cache, cookies, downloaded
components, pop-up ads and many others. Acronis Drive Cleanser 6.0 guarantees the complete
destruction of data on selected partitions and/ or entire disks, the
company claimed.
