Greater New Bedford Community Health Center Recovers Laptops Rapidly with Acronis® Snap Deploy®
The Greater New Bedford Community Health Center (GNBCHC) is a private, not-for-profit health care organization. An important and crucial resource in this historic southeastern Massachusetts city (the world’s leading whaling port in the mid 19th century), GNBCHC has served more than 20% of the population of greater New Bedford with medical, dental and ancillary health services since it was founded in 1981. With a $13.5 million dollar budget, it employs 236 personnel.
The center runs a range of billing, finance and other applications that any clinic needs to operate efficiently enough to balance the books, spread over six Windows servers and 200 Windows workstations, laptops and notebooks. But it is the eClinicalWorks® electronic medical records (EMR) and practice management system software that the center’s medical staff depend on most in order to reduce costs and errors and improve quality of care. It covers all the aspects of medical records including patient vital signs, details of specific maladies and their treatment, and insurance information. Because it replaces paper charting systems, care givers depend on it exclusively so patients can be seen without delay and cared for properly. It’s the IT team’s job to configure it on laptops and workstations. That’s why the center uses Acronis® Snap Deploy®.
