Fixed issues
This section describes known issues that have been fixed in Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Update 1.
Installation
When changing licenses for the installed Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components (Help > Change license), an SBS license is not displayed in the License for backup of Microsoft Exchange data field. The "No license specified" message is displayed instead.
There is no clear message stating that a trial VE license has expired in the log.
License keys are required during remote update of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components if Specify license keys manually is selected in Remote Installation Wizard.
Cannot remotely install Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 components on a Windows machine that has SSH enabled on port 22.
If a remote machine has a local user with the same name as the domain Administrator user, remote installation fails because of logon failure.
Remote installation on a Linux machine does not work if the /tmp directory is mounted with the noexec attribute.
Installation is not interrupted if Windows PowerShell is corrupted.
Installation of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 fails on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9. dkms displays the "syntax error near `=~'..." error.
Local management
The Data view tab displays only 5000 items. If a backup contains more than 5000 items, it is impossible to recover the items which are not displayed in the Data view tab.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool cannot recover a volume from a disk backup to unallocated space without resizing the volume so that it occupies all the space.
File-level recovery to the original location on a network share fails.
If the When there is insufficient space while backing up setting for the Clean up archive parameter within the Custom backup scheme is selected in the backup plan and the disk is full during backup, a warning about lack of space appears in the log.
The When there is insufficient space while backing up setting for the Clean up archive parameter within the Custom backup scheme does not work if backup is performed to Acronis Secure Zone.
Event time recorded in e-mail notifications about alerts is within the GMT time zone, not within the local time zone.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool does not correctly handle volume numbers in commands with the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 command-line syntax.
Agent errors added to the Windows application event log are unreadable.
Command-line input (a command and its parameters) entered by the user in the command-line interface is not added to the log generated by Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool. All passwords that the input contains should be removed from the log.
Cannot change the network and CPU load during backup and recovery using Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 command-line parameter --vm_type:microsoft is not supported.
Environment variables specified in the input file that is called via parameters --f or --file_params are not recognized.
Cannot start Acronis Startup Recovery Manager on specific hardware (Intel® Desktop Board D2500CC).
Centralized management
It is possible to create a deduplicating vault on an Acronis Storage Node that is installed on a 32-bit machine.
If Acronis Managed Machine Service and Acronis Storage Node are installed on the same machine, disk-level backup of a large amount of data (more than 2 TB) to the vault managed by this storage node and with enabled deduplication fails with the "Not enough memory" error.
A centralized backup plan does not create an incremental backup on an RDX drive if the Store each machine's archive in the specified folder on the machine with agent option is selected in the Location window.
Files from a Linux disk backup in a managed vault are not displayed in the Data catalog view or in the Data view tab of the vault.
Acronis Storage Node Service may crash if the tape management database becomes corrupted.
Backup to a managed vault in a high-speed (10 Gbit) network environment takes a long time.
Acronis Management Server integrated with the vCenter Server may write multiple "Failed to create the group for cluster" errors in the log after renaming a cluster on the integrated server.
Backup and recovery of Microsoft Exchange data
Slow CDP backup of Exchange data.
Mailbox-level backup issues: large backup size (especially for incremental backups) and metadata collection issues.
Poor error logging for mailbox-level backup and metadata collection.
The default value of the Metadata collection backup option has been changed to Include list of mailboxes to get better backup speed in most frequently used backup scenarios.
Backup of Exchange data fails with the "The server is not operational" error in some environments that have two domain controllers.
Mailbox-level backup may fail with the "Failed to create a MAPI profile. HRESULT: -2147221227" error if IPv6 is enabled on the Exchange server.
Not all Exchange items are backed up during mailbox-level backup. The log contains the following errors: "MAPI property type mismatch. Expected: '30'; Obtained: '235143178'."
Database-level backup of an Exchange Server 2003 storage group fails with the "Relative paths are not supported" error if the storage group is located in the root folder of the server.
CDP backup of Exchange data to a network share does not work after temporary network disconnection.
Cannot browse or back up a public folder database and back up a mailbox database if the Exchange server holds a mailbox role without a CAS (Client Access Server) role.
Exchange mailboxes with the empty proxyAddresses property are counted as data to back up in the Data to Back Up window.
Tapes
The Overwrite a tape in the drive when creating a full backup option which is set in Tape management is always missing in an imported backup plan.
When several backup plans are simultaneously running, a request for a free tape may appears even if free tapes are available.
Linux
Acronis Universal Restore does not work in Fedora 9.
Cannot recover a file backup if it contains directories with '\' in their names.
Cannot recover a backed up RAID/LVM structure to clean disks if the backed up system has many LVM partitions.
Hosts (e.g., NAS) that require credentials in order to get the asamba status are not supported.
An empty ext3 file system is not detected.
A disk is detected as a super floppy if it contains GRUB1 on MBR with the BIOS parameter block.
Known issues
This section describes issues that are currently known and provides solutions to avoid the issues where possible.
Installation
Upgrade of Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 to Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 for Microsoft Exchange Server fails with the "Fatal error during installation" error if the %TEMP% folder path on the machine contains space characters.
When installing Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5, license keys are requested one-by-one from the license server. This may cause a significant delay if the server is connected remotely.
Cannot remotely upgrade Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 Agent for Linux if the upgrade license is added to the license server but the full Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 license is not.
The list of components to uninstall via Start > All Programs > Acronis > Uninstall Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 does not contain all of the previously installed components: The PXE server is absent. Solution: Uninstall the PXE server separately.
Local management
There is no agentless single-pass disk and application backup of virtual machines (the Microsoft SQL metadata is not cataloged). Solution: Such VMs should be backed up as physical ones. To do so, the required agents need to be installed into the guest OS.
Confusing e-mail notifications are sent after each backup activity completion if sending of e-mail notifications is enabled in Backup options of the backup plan.
No warning about the impossibility of backing up an SQL database that is in non-operational state (e.g., Recovery, Standby, Offline, etc.) is added to the log.
Backup finishes with the "Succeeded with warnings" result if it is manually stopped or canceled. The result should be "Stopped".
Acronis Management Console displays a disk number instead of a storage space name in the Archive view tab, the Backup Content window, and the Disk management view.
In Windows 8/Windows Server 2012: When recovering an entire volume with the enabled Data Deduplication feature from a file backup, not all of its data is actually recovered if the original volume has been formatted before starting the recovery. However, the recovery successfully completes.
No warnings in the log after recovery of files to a ReFS volume if the files have a compressed attribute. Such files are not supported.
Recovery of files to a ReFS volume fails if the files have an encrypted attribute.
It is possible to recover a ReFS volume from a disk backup to a removable drive. No errors appear but the drive becomes inaccessible.
It is impossible to browse and back up volumes on dynamic disks that have a sector size of 4 KB (known as dynamic Advanced Format disks).
In Windows 8/Windows Server 2012: Disks that are made members of a storage pool disappear from Acronis Management Console only after restarting Agent for Windows to which Acronis Management Console is connected.
The "E00060106: Failed to save data of backup being edited" error appears when mounting a ReFS volume from a disk backup in the Read only access mode. Solution: Click Ignore.
Acronis Startup Recovery Manager is deactivated after creating Acronis Secure Zone.
Cannot create Acronis Secure Zone on a non-system volume of a system disk if the system volume is not selected. The following error appears: "Failed to extend the snapshot manager volume. The parameter is incorrect."
The Backup and Recover items are not disabled in the Windows context menu if only Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Agent for Microsoft Exchange Server is installed on the machine. The Recover item is also not disabled in the Windows context menu if an Exchange backup is selected in the system.
The Wake-on-LAN functionality does not work in Windows 8/Windows Server 2012.
Centralized management
The When there is insufficient space while backing up setting for the Clean up archive parameter within the Custom backup scheme does not work if an archive is stored in a managed vault.
Virtualization
A system reserved volume of a system disk in virtual machines has a letter in the Data to Back Up window.
Recovery of a virtual machine that has 4096-byte sector VHDX disks successfully completes with warnings and the log contains multiple "Failed to detect GRUB activator. An invalid sector size" errors.
Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5 Command-Line Tool fails to back up individual disks or volumes of a virtual machine by using Acronis Management Server Service (--service=ams). Solution: Back up the entire virtual machine instead (do not specify the --disk or --volume parameters).
