New infostealer malware called Meta is gaining in popularity. It attempts to steal browser passwords, credit cards info, and any other stored credentials.
Meta is an improved version of the popular RedLine infostealer, and is offered in dark web forums for $125 per month as a service, or $1,000 for a lifetime usage license.
This malware is currently distributed through a widespread email campaign, luring victims with a purported offer of a "refund" via money transfer. A seemingly-innocuous DocuSign file attachment actually contains malicious macros that deliver the infostealer.
Acronis Cyber Protect's Advanced Email Security pack detects emails with malicious attachments and filters them out automatically before they can reach users' inboxes and potentially cause harm.
