Configure Drop Folder Services

The Drop Folder service can be used to move files from user's mailbox to a defined folder.

Follow the steps below to configure a Drop Folder service:

Add a new Drop Folder service

  1. Launch the MassTransit Administrator.
  2. Open the Setup window by clicking on the Setup button from the Navigation Bar or by selecting the Setup... option from the Window main menu.
  3. Open the Services tab of the Setup window.
  4. Click on the Add... button in order to add a new service.
  5. The New Service window appears.

  6. Select the Drop Folder option from the Service drop-down menu.
  7. The Configure Drop Folder Service window appears next. Click on the Browse button and select a folder where you want the files to be moved into.

  8. After selecting the desired folder, click OK and its name will be displayed in the Drop Folder Location area of the Configure Drop Folder Service window.
  9. By default, the service name will be the whole path and name of the selected folder. If you want to, you can set a custom name for the service, this is recommended. To do that, check the Use Custom Name check box and enter a custom name in the field next to it.
  10. If you want users to be able to replace files with equal names in the configured folder, check the Allow Service To Replace Files In Selected Folder check box.
  11. When you configure the service settings, click on the OK button in the Configure Drop Folder Service window. The newly configured service should appear in the Services tab.
  12. Click on the OK button in the Setup window to save the changes. If you click Cancel, the service will not be saved.

Edit a Drop Folder service

To edit a configured service in the Services tab:

  1. Highlight the desired service in the list with services.
  2. Click on the Configure... button – the Configure Drop Folder Service window should appear.
  3. Select the Drop Folder option from the Service drop-down menu.
  4. The Configure Drop Folder Service window appears next. Click on the Browse button and select a folder where you want the files to be moved into.

  5. After selecting the desired folder, click OK and its name will be displayed in the Drop Folder Location area of the Configure Drop Folder Service window.

Enabling and disabling a service

In the first column of the Services list, there is an indicator showing whether the service is enabled or not.

Delete a service

To delete a service:

  1. Highlight it from the list with services.
  2. Click on the Delete... button.
  3. In the dialog box for deletion confirmation, click Delete if you are sure you want to delete the service. Then, the service will disappear from the list with services.
  4. To save the changes, click on the OK button in the Setup window. If you click Cancel, the changes will not be saved.
