Warning: When installing the MassTransitWebClientAdmin.dmg file, it is strongly recommend that prior to running the installer you have manually uninstalled all previous versions of the Web Assistant Plug-ins, from all users' directories on a particular machine. Otherwise when MTWeb tries to launch the MT Assistant it may find an older version, launch it and will not work correctly.
The web client Admin installer is introduced in MassTransit 7.2 and is available with all versions after. To install the MassTransitWebClientAdmin.dmg file you need to have administrative privileges. Once installed, the web client admin allows all users logged on that machine to use the Plug-in, without performing an installation. This option is appropriate for customers, that want to set web client plug-in and make it available for all present and intended in the future users. The Plug-in is also supported for File Vault encrypted home directories.
Note: To obtain the MassTransitWebClientAdmin.dmg installer, please contact your MassTransit server administrator.
To install the MassTransit Web Assistant plug-in on Mac OS 10.6 and later:
The MassTransit Web Assistant Plug-In does not currently support Mac OS High Sierra's APFS file system.
The dynamic data is stored in the local user's preferences folder, so even though users share the plug-in application, they have their own set of databases.
Note: Note that when using the admin plug-in, all the users logged on the machine will be able to see the file transfers and the logs performed by other people with the plug-in. If you do not want users to share this information, you should choose the regular MassTransitWebClient.dmg installer.
