Mailboxes

Each contact in MassTransit has a personal mailbox folder. By default, mailboxes for all contacts are stored in the User Mailboxes folder located in the MassTransit folder. They have the same name that is set in the Contacts window of the MassTransit Administrator. The default path to the User Mailboxes folder is:

1. for MassTransit HP 7.0:
   • on 32-bit machines: C:\Program Files\Group Logic\MassTransit Server 7\User Mailboxes
   • on 64-bit machines: C:\Program Files (x86)\Group Logic\MassTransit Server 7\User Mailboxes
2. for MassTransit HP 7.1 to 7.6:
   • on 32-bit machines: C:\Program Files\Group Logic\MassTransit Server\User Mailboxes
   • on 64-bit machines: C:\Program Files (x86)\Group Logic\MassTransit Server\User Mailboxes
3. for MassTransit HP 7.6 and newer:
   • on 64-bit machines: C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\MassTransit Server\User Mailboxes

You can choose a new default location to store the User Mailboxes folder. In addition, you can choose a custom location for any individual contact. Mailboxes can be stored in any folder or disk drive available to MassTransit including remote ones.

You may receive and send files to contacts and later change the location of the mailboxes from the default location to a custom location or vice versa. It is easiest to change the location when the mailboxes are empty since files are not moved when you change the location. However, if you have files in any contact’s mailbox, you should move them manually.

Each mailbox folder includes four other folders:

• Received folder – where MassTransit stores the files the contact sends to the server
• To Send folder – where you can drop files to be sent to your remote contact as needed
• Sent folder – where MassTransit moves files from the To Send folder after transmitting them
• Cannot Be Sent folder – where MassTransit moves files that cannot be sent.

The first three folders correspond to the tabs in the Files window of the MassTransit Administrator: To Send, Sent, and Received.

There is an additional folder for MassTransit HP Servers.

• To Be Forwarded folder – used when an HP Server or Web contact is forwarding files to another contact. Files are stored temporarily while being forwarded in a To Be Forwarded folder.
