Channel Strong in Denver: The Positive Vibes Tour rolls on
Iconic might just be the word for the stop on our Channel Strong: Positive Vibes Tour made in Denver today. Not just because we had super-awesome hosts, but because we had such a great event. In the spirit of community support, we were able to collect a lot more food for the food bank, but unlike yesterday’s stop in Kansas City, today’s donations included pet food. That’s something I never even would have thought about. Our tour partners PAX8 brought in a few carloads of food too! In addition to the food collection, today’s stop enabled us to give a boost to two downtown small businesses who’ve been hit hard by the lockdown.

Day one of the Channel Strong: Positive Vibe Tour is in the bag! We met with awesome partners and enjoyed the tremendous hosting of Lori Tisinai outside on the docks at the Chicago Yacht Club. We ate, we drank, and we had great conversations while socially distancing and enjoying how fantastic it felt to be out – and together! We talked a little nerd, met new MSPs, and learned new things about how real MSPs are currently running their businesses.

Connection. If there’s one word that best sums up what CompTIA is all about, it’s “connection”. It connects the global IT community as we all learn, grow, and navigate this amazing channel. One of the best parts of CompTIA is that no matter what the goal is – from new and innovative certifications or trust marks to political lobby missions to conferences aimed at bringing vendors and partners together – CompTIA is all about building relationships. And I’ve personally seen many of those relationships turn into true friendships.

Security is complicated: How modern MSPs turn chaos into opportunity
Yesterday’s managed services provider (MSP) had a typical stack at the core of their managed services offering. The main goal was uptime and reliability, so this stack consisted of RMM, professional services automation (PSA), AV, backup and DR, network operations center (NOC), and help desk. Today some MSPs include a managed security services provider (MSSP) stack that consists of eight to 10 more solutions. That’s 10 to 20 different vendors, software, and dashboards to manage, none of which are designed to work together. MSPs have to train their techs, manage their vendors, and just hope that nothing falls through the cracks that would put their clients at risk. So how does a modern MSP deliver security and protection effectively now that they are the only things that matter?

The new rhythm for Acronis Cyber Cloud releases
Acronis has moved away from big, version-based launches of the Acronis Cyber Cloud platform, and switched to a new cadence of monthly updates to the MSP services platform. Since the 9.0 release, when Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud was introduced, there have already been two product updates —July’s release is the third. These rapid improvements brought a number of highly demanded cyber protection features to help you successfully adjust your clients to working remotely without sacrificing their protection. Going forward, we’ll have smaller but more frequent releases. This approach will simplify and speed up the adoption of new capabilities — each release will have fewer changes, making it easier to learn and implement. The shortened planning and development cycle will enable us to quickly address changes in the current work environment, so we can deliver the most demanded features and innovations in Acronis products every month.
