January 25, 2005, South San Francisco, CA Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, announced that Phoenix IT Services Ltd., one of the UK's premiere providers of managed infrastructure services for partners in the IT industry, has standardized on Acronis True Image 8.0 for Windows, the latest version of Acronis' award-winning disk imaging, disaster recovery and bare-metal backup and restore utility. The company plans to use the software to image literally thousands of desktop systems.
The software allows for real-time image creation, which not only reduces creation time, it also drastically reduces restoration time in a disaster recovery situation. This provides a larger window for recovery procedures and gets employees up and running in hours not days.
"We use Acronis True Image 8.0 to deploy an operating system to clients' machines," said Andrew Carter, workshop quality team leader at Phoenix. "Acronis True Image 8.0 is much more time efficient and productive than manually installing an operating system. Our partners and their end-user demand a quick turn around of machines and these all require software to be loaded before shipping."
"Acronis' channel partners work closely with their customers to deliver world-class, customized servers and desktop systems," said Max Tsypliaev, president of Acronis Inc. "Ensuring data availability and maintaining peak system performance were the Phoenix IT Services' key requirements, and Acronis True Image Server exceeded these needs."
In addition to backup and disaster recovery capabilities, Acronis True Image also allows Phoenix IT Services to clone disk drives. This is invaluable when expanding desktop operations with the minimum of configuration time.
Financial terms of the agreement were not released.
