Acronis launches first cloud data center in Taiwan

This new data center provides faster access and greater data flexibility for service provider clients across Taiwan, along with comprehensive cyber protection solutions

TAIPEI - The global leader in cyber protection today announced the availability of a new Acronis Cyber Cloud data center in Taiwan. The new data center, one of the 111 new data centers currently being deployed by the company - from Europe to Asia and from the U.S. to Africa - gives service provider partners access to a full range of cyber protection solutions upon which they can build new services, while delivering faster access, constant data availability, and data sovereignty to their clients. The opening of the Taiwan data center is part of the Acronis Global/Local Initiative: an effort that includes global management for all data centers, geographic redundancy, control for local partners and a local disaster recovery site - all with competitive pricing.

As revealed in Acronis' recently released Cyber Readiness Report 2021, three out of 10 companies report facing a cyberattack at least once a day. This year, several well-known Taiwanese companies have reported being attacked. With cyberattacks on the rise, almost 50% of companies believe that they will encounter threats - such as ransomware attacks, security vulnerabilities, social engineering attacks, and various cybercriminals. We know that 96% of MSPsare concerned about suffering a cybersecurity breach in the next 12 months, and 40% of them are extremely concerned.

"Being one of Acronis' fastest growing key business developments in the Asia Pacific region, we believe that the data center in Taiwan is an absolute necessity for modern cloud businesses. The completion of the Acronis data center in Taiwan continues our earlier commitment to expand our cloud business in Taiwan," said Dylan Wei, General Manager at Acronis Greater China (GCR). "The advantages of a local data center include directly supporting regulatory requirements from local financial industries and government agencies, while increasing data transfer speed and security. The Acronis data center in Taiwan provides comprehensive cloud services, including information security, data recovery and disaster preparedness, to help Taiwanese businesses transform easily, securely, and quickly."

And according to Pasha Ershow, SVP, APJ & MEA Sales and Global Channel, "It was one of the strongest years for Acronis, as seen in our key numbers: channel business is booming - now over 20,000 service provider partners, and growing rapidly across the world. The number of our cloud business customers also increased 30%, with workloads growing 77% in 2021. APAC region has been a particularly fast-growing market for us, and we plan to double our investments into the region in 2022," said Pasha Ershow, SVP, APJ & MEA Sales and Global Channel. "Since 2020, we have opened 40 data centers across the globe, set to have them in over 100 countries in the next 18 months. This Acronis DC brings new capabilities for Taiwan-based service providers, as cyberthreats peak and data accessibility, privacy and compliance demands have become a necessity, not a luxury. We will continue to do our part and invest into the IT channel - to match the exploding data footprint and deliver cutting-edge solutions to our service providers and their clients."

Acronis partners in Taiwan also expressed excitement about the new capabilities and opportunities the new data center will enable them to offer to their customers.

"Acronis solutions are known worldwide for their unique and effective approach to cyber protection. As cyber threats continue to spread, so do the number of cyberattacks on Taiwanese businesses. The new data center expands Acronis' local presence and provides peace of mind for our partners, who know that they are backed by a global partner who is on standby 24/7/365, providing round-the-clock support to address any issues." said Laic Wang, General Manager, JustWin Information, one of Acronis´ strategic local partners.

"We are excited to work with Acronis to provide a comprehensive and complete range of high-quality cyber protection for our enterprise users. With the new data center, Odin is now able to provide offsite backup and disaster recovery in addition to efficient and secure network protection - a truly integrated service, which brings higher cost-performance ratio for businesses, especially SMEs, which account for 72% of Taiwan's total companies." said Alex Chen, Genernal Manager, Odin information, one of Acronis´ strategic local partners.

Among the solutions now available through the new data center is Acronis Cyber Protect, a unique integration of backup, disaster recovery, next-generation anti-malware, cybersecurity and endpoint management tools - all managed via a single pane of glass. This solution is VB100 certified and its unique capabilities earned Acronis Cyber Protect the 2020 New Product Innovation Award for Data Protection from Frost & Sullivan. Acronis Cyber Protect is protecting over 2M workloads, preventing over 1M attacks per year, and providing support to over 15,000 cloud partners.
