If there’s one thing that channel, cybersecurity, and IT professionals understand, it’s that you need to be flexible to keep a business running smoothly and constantly protected. That’s because no matter how good your initial plan might be, something unexpected can always happen that you will need to adapt to, such as a global pandemic.

Acronis has been preparing a stellar program for the Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020, which is taking place from October 19 to 22. While current trends make pursuing an in-person conference in Miami, FL a bad idea, we don’t want you to miss out – so we’re transforming this year’s conference into an online event that you can attend for free.

Moving to a virtual format is the best way for us to share the latest best practices, strategies, and advances in cyber protection while ensuring the health and safety of everyone. Plus, this change in format presents a unique opportunity to significantly enrich and expand the planned program.

We’re going to leverage that opportunity so attendees have an amazing virtual experience at the Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020 – despite the distance.

The move to remote

We would prefer to see our partners and customers in person, but the decision to move to an online format was made easier by the growing comfort people have attending virtual conferences. After all, most of us have quickly adapted to the new reality of meeting remotely during the past few months.

While some may be skeptical of the virtual conference format, IDC shared findings from a research survey earlier this month that showed nearly one-third of virtual conference attendees had a better experience than expected. Some even reported a better experience than if they had attended in person. Another half of all respondents said their experience was what they expected.

Given the widespread acceptance of the virtual conference format, we believe this adjustment to the Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020 format is the best path forward for our partners, customers, and employees.

A virtual event will also enable more members of the Acronis community around the world to participate.

Online-specific program

There continues to be tremendous demand for the latest information on cyber protection strategies and solutions. We heard from so many people who could not attend last year’s Summit, but who watched the keynotes and presentations that we shared online.

Now, with all of the sessions geared specifically for online participation, we’ll be creating an even better experience.

The Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020 will feature world-class speakers and thought leaders, panel discussions, workshops, and online training. More than 30 sessions are planned, each customized for the service providers, resellers, developers, ISVs, and IT professionals who will be attending the virtual conference.

Actionable, immediately beneficial sessions

While we’ll be reviewing and modifying the agenda to ensure we are maximizing the virtual conference format, but the topics are designed to be practical, actionable, and immediately beneficial to your organization. The current tracks planned for the 2020 Summit are:

  • Modernize Your Strategies for Success in the Cloud Age – The IT channel is rapidly changing, responding to new realities such as the adoption of cloud, ever-evolving cyberthreats, everything-as-a-service, etc. To compete in this new landscape, service providers and resellers must deliver in-demand, high-margin cyber protection solutions. This track will show how they can easily expand their solution set while protecting customers from the latest cyberthreats.
  • Transform Your Data Protection and Cybersecurity Operations – Enterprise IT pros need to modernize their data protection and storage infrastructure implementations to protect against modern threats while satisfying new regulatory and compliance obligations at the edge. This track will explore how organizations are moving forward without the baggage of the past by employing a more holistic approach to protection.
  • Leverage Automation and Integration to Scale Your Business and Increase Profits – Within the Acronis Developer Network, service providers, OEMs, and ISVs are customizing, integrating, and extending their applications with cyber protection solutions. They can automate the delivery and management of IT operations with new integrations (or those available in the Acronis Cyber Cloud Solutions Portal). This track will show how teams can be more efficient, or earn more, with native integrations.
  • Discover B2B Sales and Marketing Techniques That Build Your Brand, Margins, and Customer Base – Marketing in the channel has evolved as technologies and tactics adapt to the habits and preferences of modern buyers. This track offers the chance to learn from experts who will offer real-world insights into what marketing approaches are working – and why. From event marketing to lead generation to branding and sales to marketing operations – this is the chance for service providers, resellers, and marketing professionals to get the latest information needed to win new business.

Always moving forward

We’ll miss seeing everyone in person, obviously, and we know many of our partners, customers, and employees are looking forward to reconnecting in-person as soon as possible. If you registered to attend the Summit in-person at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Resort, an Acronis team member will reach out to you soon.

Our plan is to be back in 2021 with a hybrid event that combines the best of the in-person conference with a comprehensive and engaging online experience. But that’s next year.

Today, we’re planning an exciting, virtual Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020 and we look forward to seeing you there. To attend, simply register on the event web page.
