Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud
for service providers

One year ago in Hungary, Acronis announced a long-term partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso, becoming the first Singaporean company to sponsor an F1 racing team!

The partnership announcement coincided with the launch of Acronis Backup 12, the world’s #1 backup for small and medium-sized businesses. It’s been a story of success. The latest release, Acronis Backup 12.5, is now the most innovative and complete data protection solution available on the market today. It is also the only secure backup with built-in active protection against ransomware — something that’s become critical in light of the recent cyber attacks.

One year on, the partnership is growing stronger. Scuderia Toro Rosso has moved from the role of being a product supporter to using Acronis’ solutions itself, both trackside and in the factory. The recently deployed Acronis Access Advanced helps the team to maintain efficiency and ultimate security when sharing data between trackside engineers, factory, and third party contractors.

“The key goal is security. The new solution allows us to define different security policies for different users and even make sure the shared data is only accessible for a specified period of time. And since it’s fast and easy to use, our users will be happy to use it and remain in full compliance with our corporate security policies,” Raffaele Boschetti, Scuderia Toro Rosso Head of IT, told Acronis last month.

Partnership with a data-driven sport

Throughout the year, Scuderia Toro Rosso provided us with an insider’s view of what it’s like to be part of the most technologically advanced and data-intensive sport.

In Malaysia last year, Daniel Martland, Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Trackside IT Engineer, demonstrated the ins and outs of collecting and processing telemetry data during the race.

A few months later, Raffaele Boschetti gave us an overview of the IT infrastructure at the Faenza factory, stressing the importance of data in motor racing.

Then, during the first race of the 2017 season in Australia, Ben Waterhouse, Scuderia Toro Rosso’s Deputy Technical Director, explained the process of combining the telemetry data collected over the years with the FIA regulations to design and manufacture new cars for every new season.

Every decision made by Scuderia Toro Rosso is based on data. Acronis has the technology to protect all data. Together, we share the values of being #1, Fast, and Innovative in all we do. It’s been a successful year and we’ll have more exciting news in the coming months.

Partner involvement

We are proud of our partnership with Scuderia Toro Rosso, how it drives our technology innovation, and what it means for our partners. With an ultimate focus on performance and innovation, we have the most complete data protection solution perfectly suited for every business segment.

Commenting on the release of Acronis Backup 12.5, Phil Goodwin from IDC said: “Data for many organizations is becoming widely dispersed across multiple on-premises datacenters, public/private cloud and SaaS applications. Protecting these repositories as separate entities, with separate solutions, in inefficient and prone to user error and cyber attacks. There is a market gap for a universal data protection solution compatible with all workloads in all environments and Acronis Backup 12.5 is designed to fill it by offering complete protection and defense against ransomware.”

Great technology makes it easy for our partners to build their own business and we’ll continue working and supporting their needs into the future.
