Celebrating Advanced Tech and the Differentiation Paradox at CloudFest 2019

There’s no doubt businesses increasingly view the cloud as an agile, efficient way to manage their IT needs: 58 percent are moving toward a hybrid IT environment and another 18 percent are looking to move completely to the cloud (per 451 Research). This means that managed service providers (MSPs) need the right tools to stay in the game – and ahead of the competition – to facilitate this process for customers and capture some of the projected $186.4 billion cloud computing market.

Next week at CloudFest 2019, Acronis will join 7,000 global cloud, hosting, and service provider industry pros to share IT solutions that enable MSPs to solve pressing, complex customer problems. Here’s a preview of what will be top-of-mind at Acronis’ CloudFest booth #F04.

Generating Mountains of Data - Thoughts from #IDCDirections

These are exciting times of change in almost every industry, vertical, use case, and inside almost every team. From accounting and HR, to sales and marketing, to the manufacturing line and warehouse inventory systems, everything is being instrumented and data is being captured and analyzed. The popular saying “If you can’t measure it, you can’t improve it” is on the verge of being abused.

Several Acronis team members and I just spent the day at IDC Directions 2019. It’s a yearly event where the IDC community of analysts meets with clients, presenting high-level summaries of their research and sharing their thoughts about where technology is heading and what we and our organizations can do prepare for the future rushing towards us.

And that is a good thing.

AI can unlock a new level of security sought by experts

How well protected is your company’s data? If you’re like the majority of IT professionals, probably not well enough. That’s not our opinion, but rather the honest answer from 62 percent of IT professionals from around the globe who reported that their security infrastructure has gaps that would allow attackers to penetrate their defenses.

That revelation is just one of the troubling findings from the Ponemon Institute’s recent report on the modern IT security gap and how artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) could help.

Artificial Intelligence's Role on Soccer's Biggest Stage

Artificial intelligence, machine learning, and the 2018 Soccer Tournament

Artificial intelligence and machine learning are quickly changing how we experience the world. As the biggest soccer tournament of 2018 amps up soccer fans around the world, few are probably thinking about AI’s impact on the games – yet these cutting-edge technologies are also transforming how we play, watch, and predict sports.

Let’s take a look at how these technological innovations are helping to reshape the world of international soccer, and where else they’re acting as game changers.

Eggnog Reflections

Eggnog Reflections

As I’m sitting here sipping on my eggnog, I’m thinking about how much changes in a year. These words were not even a common part of my vocabulary 12 months ago: ransomware, Bitcoin, ICO, digital identity, GDPR, blockchain, AI and machine learning.

Tech Trends 2018

The only constant in the world is change, and that is especially true in the field of technology. So what changes can we expect in 2018?

The current wave of innovative technologies will continue to gain momentum and further disrupt traditional industries throughout 2018. Personal data will become even more valuable and new regulations will try to protect that information. Ransomware attacks will continue to become even more sophisticated, forcing data protection vendors to dig deep and invest accordingly to create innovative anti-ransomware solutions that are easy and affordable for anybody with a computer.

2017 Review - 2018 Trends

Here we are at the end of another year, and what a year it was. Twelve months ago we made predictions for the year ahead – let’s see how we did.

Acronis Machine Learning

Acronis Active Protection is an advanced technology that uses sophisticated analysis to monitor and stop erratic processes on your system. If ransomware somehow manages to get through your anti-virus and starts to encrypt files, Acronis Active Protection will detect the encryption and immediately halt it – automatically restoring the files to the most recently backed up version. While performing well in independent testing and earning accolades from the media, Acronis has worked diligently to make it even better. The result is an improved version that incorporates machine learning and artificial intelligence technologies.

Backup with Ransomware Protection

Since launching Acronis Active Protection, we’re frequently asked why we developed an artificial intelligence-based technology to combat ransomware. And since announcing that it will be part of all editions of Acronis True Image 2018, we’ve heard the question more frequently.

So here’s a look at why is Acronis investing time and money to create a cutting-edge ransomware protection technology and how our AI and machine learning solution fights this ever-growing digital threat.
