Pierre Gasly of Scuderia Toro

As the Formula 1 season came to an end, thousands of people made their way to oil-rich Abu Dhabi to see their favorite drivers one more time. And the picturesque Yas Marina didn’t disappoint.

The Mercedes team that already had the contractors’ championship in the pocket displayed another strong performance, with both drivers taking the first two podium positions, followed by Ferraris’ Sebastian Vettel who settled for third while retaining the second spot in the driver standings.

Franz Tost of Toro Rosso

It’s hard to believe, but the 2017 Formula 1 season is nearly over. With only two races to go, we asked Franz Tost, Scuderia Toro Rosso Team Principal, to sum up the season so far and share his goals for 2018.

Never Give Up — an Important Value in Sport and Business

Pierre Gasly of Scuderia Toro Rosso

Sometimes, even in the ultra-competitive world of Formula 1 racing where even a single point can be of huge significance come the end of a season, just taking part and gaining valuable experience can be of equal importance.

Just as Lewis Hamilton wrapped up a fourth world drivers’ title by recovering to finish ninth following an opening lap collision with rival Sebastian Vettel, so Scuderia Toro Rosso drivers Pierre Gasly and Brendon Hartley can be proud of their battling efforts after a tough weekend.

How to free up space on smartphone

Remember “The Best Camera Is The One That's With You” from a visionary photographer Chase Jarvis? In this beautiful photographic journal covering a year in his life, Jarvis underscores the idea that an inspiring moment can be captured by any camera, even a mobile phone.

This trend is in full swing. More than a third of the world’s population now own a smartphone, which means 2.2 billion people will be capturing their inspiring moments with a mobile phone this year. In fact, market research firm InfoTrends says that 85 percent of the 1.2 trillion new photos projected for 2017 will be taken on smartphones.

This week, many of those images will be capturing the excitement of the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix in Austin, Texas. If the turnout is similar to 2016, more than 250 thousand people will bring their smartphones to the Circuit of the Americas this weekend, looking for a perfect shot of their favorite driver, team car, or attending celebrity.

A Fond Farewell to Carlos in the Land of the Rising Sun

Carlos Sainz of Scuderia Toro Rosso - Acronis

The Scuderia Toro Rosso team bid a fond farewell to outgoing driver Carlos Sainz as the sun set on the Suzuka paddock after an event filled Japanese Grand Prix weekend.

The land of the rising sun turned out to be the land of the grey skies and rain showers on a Friday that saw more action in the pitlane than out on the track as team members entertained themselves by floating paper boats along the tarmac that now resembled rivers.

Scuderia Toro Rosso and Honda

Changing power units in racing cars is not uncommon. For Scuderia Toro Rosso it’ll be the third change in as many years. Last year they used Ferrari. This year it’s Renault. Next year, the power unit will come from Japan. The Faenza-based team recently signed a new agreement with Honda, and in the words of Team Principal Franz Tost, Toro Rosso expects “to get out a lot on the design side as well as from the cooperation.”

While the media have a field day discussing the news, Acronis spoke to Raffaele Boschetti, who heads the IT at Scuderia Toro Rosso, about what’s involved in getting ready for a new engine supplier. With everything relying on data, it was only appropriate to start with IT.

Love for STR and Acronis at the Team's Home From Home

Scuderia Toro Rosso Italian Grand Prix 2017

Although the Italian Grand Prix failed to deliver the desired grid order or points for many teams, the weekend proved a roaring success in other ways.

Scuderia Toro Rosso

It had been three weeks before the trucks arrived in Belgium to unload their precious cargoes and once again go racing again after the long summer break. During this time, Acronis launched Acronis True Image 2018, the #1 personal backup software, and the FIA also had safety on its mind, announcing that it was to introduce the radical ‘Halo’ driver protection device for the 2018 season onwards.
