Gartner Magic Quadrant

2019 year in review

There were several developments in the world of cybersecurity and data protection during the past 12 months that will have long-term effects on efforts to safeguard data, applications, and systems. As 2019 comes to a close, we’re taking a look back at a few highlights to see how quickly things are changing.

We hope this walk down memory lane will remind individuals, businesses, and the service providers who look to help those users why modern cyber protection strategies are needed to face the ever-changing landscape of cyberthreats.

Acronis Earns on the Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Datacenter Backup and Recovery Solutions

Acronis was honored to be featured in this year’s Gartner 2019 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Datacenter Backup and Recovery Solutions.

Admittedly, we were disappointed to see our position on the quadrant – especially given our unique vision and successful practical execution of fusing cybersecurity with backup in order to establish a new standard of comprehensive protection: Cyber Protection.

Then again, visionaries and innovators rarely fit existing metrics – instead we influence the standards that drive the future of their industries.

Let’s take a moment to examine Acronis’ position in the Enterprise Backup and Recovery sector.

Peer Insights Customers' Choice for Backup

When Gartner announced the 2018 Gartner Peer Insights Customers’ Choice awards for Data Center Backup and Recovery products last week, the foresight and vision displayed by Acronis generated a surprise appearance. That’s because unlike the other six vendors recognized as a Customers’ Choice, Acronis was not covered in Gartner’s previous Magic Quadrants for Backup and Recovery.

Instead, Acronis earned the recognition as Peer Insights Customers’ Choice because actual product users submitted enough high-quality testimonials and scores to get the company added to the awards list.

Many of you may know that a couple of weeks ago Gartner published its first-ever magic quadrant report on Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS). In case you missed it, Acronis is challenging the leaders in this space, and Gartner ranked us highest among the Challengers on our Ability to Execute.

But what does it really mean to you as a customer or future customer of Acronis?

All 14 players included in the Gartner Magic Quadrant are qualified vendors that have no doubt earned their placement in the report. With that said, each vendor offering differs in the way it approaches disaster recovery, the features it delivers, and the resources it allocates to the solution – all of which ultimately impact the actual solution delivered to customers.

So, the question is: How does Acronis differentiate, and where does Acronis fit in this landscape of disaster recovery solutions in the cloud?
