88% of employees want to maintain some level of remote work

Six months ago the COVID pandemic drove a mass migration from offices to remote work environments. That shift led to major changes for organizations and employees as security, connectivity, and support needs spread overnight.

To determine how businesses were able to cope with this migration to remote work environments – and where their people, processes, and tech wasn’t up for the task – we surveyed more than 3,000 remote workers and IT managers around the world.

Hear how remote workers experienced this shift, how their views on in-office work have changed, and how your organization can prepare for the future of remote work with the 2020 Acronis Cyber Readiness Report deep-dive.

Acronis Cyber Readiness Report: Pandemic reveals cybersecurity gaps, need for new solutions

The newly released Acronis Cyber Readiness Report reveals that organizations continue to struggle to protect their data and infrastructure against the new challenges of the remote work landscape. It also also underscored how new solutions are required – with 92% of surveyed companies reporting they had to adopt new technologies to enable remote work, including workplace collaboration tools, privacy solutions, and endpoint cybersecurity.

That revelation that modern cyber protection solutions are needed comes on the same day that Acronis Cyber Protect 15, which addresses the concerns revealed in the report, is released for general availability.

Channel Strong in Charlotte: Ready for remote work

Charlotte showed up strong today and came out for a little food and fun in the sun as our Channel Strong: Positive Vibe Tour rolled into town. I’ll admit that the sun was a welcome change after our fantastic-but-rainy visits to Atlanta and Orlando.

Our gracious host in Charlotte was Joseph Atkins, the founder of SeedSpark. SeedSpark is MSP here and a recent Inc. 500 award recipient. The company’s 45-person team came out to join us for our event.

Channel Strong in Atlanta: Weathering the storm

The second stop of this week’s leg of the Channel Strong: Positive Vibes Tour brought us into Atlanta, GA. The only downside is rainstorms rolled into town with us, which caused a bit of a wet experience.

Even though it rained the whole time, we had a good turn out and a lot of fun. As they say in the theater, “the show must go on!”

Arsenal FC seamlessly transitions to working from home during lockdown with help from Acronis

Long before the COVID-19 pandemic, Arsenal had been working hard to implement new technology to allow its workforce to work from home on an ad-hoc basis. This included the implementation of collaborative and cloud-based technology. Then the crisis hit.

According to Christelle Heikkila, IT Director at Arsenal, “we had a seamless transition for our entire workforce to work from home as soon as lockdown started, from every department around the world as far as Singapore and Australia.”

Acronis has been with Arsenal every step of the way, taking proactive measures to keep Arsenal cyber safe, including the provision of backups for its cloud-based data to give it additional peace of mind. Arsenal was also an early adopter of Acronis Cyber Protect, which has cybersecurity features like a full-stack antivirus solution, vulnerability assessments, patch management, and URL filtering.

Here's a look at how their transition went.

Celebrating SysAdmin Day 2020

This SysAdmin Day, Acronis is celebrating sysadmins around the world who saw the systems they administrate shift dramatically in 2020 and kept their teams running through it all. With this year’s massive migration to remote work – and all the security, connectivity, privacy, and accessibility challenges that came with it – sysadmins faced enormous obstacles and overcame them all.

Today, we’re sharing some of their stories to highlight just how much they do to keep businesses in business and offering free Zoom virtual backgrounds and digital stickers to help make sure they get the credit they’re due.

Acronis Cyber Protect is hereThe catchy title for this post celebrates a special moment. Not many companies have a chance to disrupt and transform an old, stable industry, but that’s exactly what Acronis did today.

That’s because we’ve released Acronis Cyber Protect – our game-changing cyber protection solution that integrates backup, disaster recovery, next-gen anti-malware, cybersecurity, and endpoint management tools into one integrated service.

As a result, we’re eliminating complexity, improving productivity, and enabling our managed service provider (MSP) partners to easily and efficiently scale while making security a focus of their service portfolio.

Remote workers need cyber protection

When we made the decision a few weeks ago to delay the general availability of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, it was because we wanted to incorporate new cyber protection features for remote workers and workloads. After all, an unprecedented number of people were suddenly being forced to work from home, and their data, applications, and systems needed protection.

That same day, we got an email from our colleagues at the market research firm DCIG to let us know they just published a blog article about how one of their analysts successfully used Acronis True Image for cyber protection and resilience at his home office following a hardware failure.

The timing couldn’t have been more synchronistic.

COVID-19 Outbreak: What to Expect and How to Stay #CyberFit

While most of the world is responding to the coronavirus crisis with compassion, cybercriminals are trying to take advantage of the emergency. Not only do we need to take precautions to maintain our physical well-being, but we also need to safeguard our digital lives as well against these immoral opportunists.

In both instances, people have a lot of questions.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, from 13:00-15:00 CET, Acronis is holding an online event with experts who will address the latest updates on the spread of COVID-19, how we can protect ourselves from infection, and what steps we should be taking to counter the cyberattacks that are increasing in the pandemic’s wake.

Acronis COVID-19 Response Programs

The reality of the COVID-19 pandemic has become all too real for individuals and organizations; it’s become clear that the only way to contain the virus and keep the healthcare system from becoming overloaded is to reduce close personal interactions. The need for people to work from home when possible has become critical for businesses that may have never considered the option before.

As a cyber protection company, we believe strongly in protecting data, applications, and systems at all times – even when employees are working from home.

As a result, the executive team at Acronis has decided to make our secure, enterprise-grade file sync and share technology available for free to partners so that organizations can remain both productive and secure during this challenging period.
