Acronis pros recognized as 2021 CRN Channel Chiefs

As a channel-focused company, everyone at Acronis works to provide our partners with the solutions, strategies, and support they need to compete. While the service providers, resellers, and distributors we work with often praise that commitment, earning recognition from industry observers is a nice affirmation too.

That’s why we’re so pleased to learn that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, just named two of our key team members – Patrick Hurley, Vice President and General Manager of Sales, Americas, and Amy Luby, Chief Channel Evangelist – to its 2021 list of Channel Chiefs.

Cyber protection thought leaders eager for Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020

We’re less than 50 days away from the Acronis Global Cyber Summit 2020, which is happening from October 19 to 21, and the lineup of tech leaders, cybersecurity experts, and IT channel veterans who are set to share their expertise is getting pretty long – and impressive.

As the world's largest gathering of thought leaders and industry experts focused on cyber protection, this year’s Summit is expected to draw an even larger crowd from around the world since it’s being offered as a free virtual event.

With recognized IT channel, cybersecurity, and integration experts from around the world, attendees will take away valuable tools and frameworks, peer learnings, and valuable insights for protecting data, systems, and applications.

Exploring the MSP managed security survey resultsWe recently shared our excitement about a new research study we commissioned that looked at the trends in managed security and backup among MSPs. That blog provided an overview of the survey’s methodology and a few preliminary data points. In this blog, we will dive into the first main section of the survey which looked at security, and we will discuss how the findings relate to the benefits provided by Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud.

Amy Luby is Acronis IT Channel Chief Evangelist

As an MSP, I was always looking for better tools, tools that would ultimately help me deliver a higher level of service to my clients. As expensive as it is to change tools, if the benefits outweighed the pain of switching, I was all over it.

Today, protecting your clients from cyberthreats has become a full-time job. Exploits are created every minute of every day, making it practically impossible for most IT service providers to keep pace to counter them all.

Now more than ever, MSPs need modern tools to manage modern threats.

2020 MSP Cybersecurity Readiness Survey Results

During the first quarter of 2020, Acronis commissioned Omdia (formerly Ovum) to conduct a survey of managed service providers (MSPs) to explore the trends in managed security and backup. The goal of the study was to get an up-to-date view on what cybersecurity and backup services are currently offered, what features matter most, what future plans they might have to expand their offerings, and what business, operational, and technical challenges make it harder for MSPs to execute.

Naturally, we also wanted the perspective of MSPs and real data about the IT channel’s capabilities and concerns before launching Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. It seems we’ve rolled out this new service just in time.

The Secret Shortcut to a Disaster Recovery as a Service Offering

Implementing a disaster recovery (DR) program used to be hard – from getting space in a co-location data center, to redeploying depreciated hardware, to dealing with dedicated black-box hardware. Through the magic of the cloud and sophisticated software that integrates backup and orchestrates failovers to cloud-based recovery machines for production, a DR offering has now become the simplest way to increase revenues and deepen client relationships.

Enabling a fully-functional managed disaster recovery as a service program, leveraging existing client backup data, can be as easy as the flip of a switch.

Demystifying the CARES Act for MSPs

MSPs can benefit from CARES Act aid

The U.S. Government pulled together the largest economic stimulus package in our nation’s history and they did it in one week. This is an incredible accomplishment and a testament to our country’s ability to work together when faced with a crisis the likes of which we have not seen before.

Acronis' Amy Luby just spoke to the CEO of Lendio, Brock Blake, and two MSP business owners, Amy Babinchak and Lori Tisinai, about the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, who it is for, and what the best strategies are for accessing those funds. Brock explained who’s eligible for the CARES Act and how Lendio is making it easy for small business owners to apply for and find the right banks.

MSPs Excited for Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud Launch

At last year’s Acronis Global Cyber Summit, a highpoint was launching the beta program for Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. This solution integrates backup with full-stack next-generation anti-malware protection and comprehensive endpoint management tools for comprehensive, AI-enhanced cyber protection. With endpoint protection, patch management, vulnerability assessments, and AI-based hard drive failure detection – all delivered through single product and a single console – it is poised to be a game-changer.

Now Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud is set to launch later this month, so we thought we’d share the reactions several of our MSP partners had of the new solution.

World Cyber Protection Week Survey Reveals Most IT Pros Back up Their Data – But Still Can’t Sleep at Night

As we near the end of World Cyber Protection Week – a natural (and necessary) extension of World Backup Day – we’re zero-ing in on what our 2020 survey of IT pros worldwide revealed when it comes to their experiences with data loss and protection today. We wanted to know their current thinking about and approach to keeping data and systems safe, accessible, private, authentic, and secure (SAPAS) today. And the results are revealing for our service provider partners too, shedding light on what their clients are particularly concerned with – and investing in – when it comes to protection today.

Here’s a quick look at how these pros approach data protection, what’s keeping them up at night given the current threat landscape, and what can be done so they can rest easier.
