Acronis appoints Walter Scott as president and CEO

October 13, 2005, South San Francisco, CA — Acronis, Inc. (www.acronis.com), the technological leader in storage management software, announced that its board of directors has named Walter Scott as the company's president and chief executive officer.

Scott most recently served as the CEO of Imceda Software, Inc., where he was responsible for driving the performance of the company's SQL Server backup and recovery business and its sale to Quest Software, Inc. Previously, Scott served as the vice president of worldwide sales for Embarcadero Technologies, Inc., where he was instrumental in the company's successful IPO.

"The Acronis board unanimously selected Scott based on his track record of leading fast-growth organizations, as well as his strong executive and personal qualities," said Max Tsypliaev, Acronis' Chairman of the Board. Tsypliaev, who previously held the title of CEO, was elevated to chairman at the same board meeting.

"We knew we needed a strong leader with extensive experience to lead our organization to the next level," said Tsypliaev. "We found that person in Walter. He has the skills, drive, determination and understanding of the market required."

"I was impressed with the dedication of the team, the loyalty of the Acronis customer base and the technology that they are producing," Scott said. "There is a real need in the market to deliver high-quality products that address the disaster recovery requirements of every computer user — from the person with a PC in their living room to the largest corporations in the world. After extensive research on the existing solutions in the market, I am convinced that Acronis has the executive team, staff and technology in place to address these needs."
