Acronis Delivers Industry's First Backup & Recovery Software Optimized for Booming Netbook Market

Features Disk-Imaging Technology, Online Backup, Powerful Scheduling Capabilities and One-Click Protection for Netbooks

Acronis® Inc. (http://www.acronis.com), a provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery software, released today the first backup and recovery software optimized for netbooks’ screen size and unique hardware configuration. Acronis® True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition delivers the patented disk-imaging technology and bare metal restore technologies of the Acronis True Image family combined with an option for online backup.

Acronis True Image 2010 Netbook Edition is the latest addition to the award-winning Acronis True Image portfolio, following the release of Acronis True Image Home 2010. Acronis is strengthening its leadership by expanding its consumer offerings with solutions that meet specific needs and deliver best value for data protection and disaster recovery.

In a single product designed for the booming netbook market – market research firm DisplaySearch measured netbook sales growth at 40 percent from Q1 2009 to Q2 2009 – Acronis True Image 2010 Netbook Edition delivers the flexibility of where and how often to backup netbooks. From its intuitive graphical interface, users can back up their entire disk locally and to any attached device. One-Click Protection and powerful scheduler allow users to simply create and automate regular backups. Additionally, users can store their critical data online using the optional Acronis online service.

Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition, priced at $29.99 and available in English and German, can be downloaded at www.acronis.com. Available at major retailers, it comes on a memory stick because netbooks lack a CD drive.

“With the Netbook Edition, creating backups is a breeze,” said Vlad Kuznetsov, of Menlo Park, Calif., a beta tester. “I am enthusiastic about the Acronis True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition. It combines Acronis’ power and reliability neatly optimized for netbooks and allows for easy full-system restoration.”

Acronis® True Image Home 2010 Netbook Edition supports Microsoft Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP Home and XP Professional operating systems.  It requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024x600. The new software supports netbooks that use Intel’s Atom 230, 330, N270, N280, Z500, Z510, Z520, Z530 and Z540 chips or the VIA C7-M chip.

“By delivering the first-ever netbook-optimized backup and recovery software, Acronis is continuing its pledge to develop industry-leading solutions,” said Jason Donahue, CEO of Acronis. “The netbook market is growing rapidly and netbook users deserve the award-winning power of our disk-imaging technology.”
