Woburn, Mass., April 13, 2010 – Acronis (http://www.acronis.com), a provider of affordable, scalable onsite and offsite backup, disaster recovery and security solutions, today announced the release of a new update for the Acronis® Backup & Recovery® 10 line of products.
The new update introduces a series of modifications and enhancements that offer improved performance and workflow of the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 line of products. Enhancements include:
- VMware Ready™ certification for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition
- Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition becomes VMware Cluster-Aware
- Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition supports VMware VMotion, and VMware High Availability
- Ability to manage an entire VMware Cluster from a single virtual appliance

- Introduction of Acronis Customer Experience Program
With the release of the update, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition has achieved VMware Ready™ status, making it the only disk image-based backup and recovery product for physical and virtual environments certified for the VMware platform.
In this update, Acronis introduces several new capabilities for VMware environments. Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 is now VMware Cluster-Aware, giving users the ability to backup all machines in a VMware cluster from a virtual appliance. In addition, Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 now supports VMware VMotion, and VMware High Availability.
Houston Texas-based iland Internet Solutions Chief Technology Officer Justin Giardina has been leveraging Acronis and VMware as an integrated package to help the firm meet its business goal to expand its virtual machine hosting customer base. “The close relationship between VMware and Acronis has given iland an important competitive advantage for nearly two years, allowing us to demonstrate our ability to recover any machine onto a VMware machine in moments.”
Also included in the update are the Acronis Smart Error Reporting tool and Acronis Customer Experience Program.
The Acronis Smart Error Reporting tool links any error message in the product to the online Acronis Knowledge Base, where relevant information on specific errors and solutions can be found. This tool makes it easier for administrators to find relevant information to troubleshoot the issue.
The Acronis Customer Experience Program is a new optional program that allows Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 to automatically gather product usage statistics and system information that will help Acronis develop new features and updates for future releases.
The Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Update and Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server Virtual Edition are available directly from Acronis (sales@acronis.com), partners (https://www.acronis.com/partners) and on the web (www.acronis.com).
