Acronis migration tools now offered with Intel® solid-state drives

Acronis Software helps users transfer information to new SSD drives in minutes!

Woburn, Mass., Oct. 6, 2010 -Acronis, a leading provider of easy-to-use backup, recovery and security solutions for physical, virtual and cloud environments, is pleased to announce that Intel® Solid-State Drives (SSDs) now include Intel® Data Migration Software, a set of powerful and easy-to-use hard disk utilities, powered by Acronis.

The software, developed by Acronis, will detect both a user's old and new drives and guide the user through a simple and quick cloning process. The Intel® Data Migration Software, will help transfer information from the old hard drive, including operating systems, applications, documents and personal settings, in just minutes.

All Intel® SSDs work with the Intel® Data Migration Software, which can be downloaded, free of charge, at www.intel.com/go/ssdinstallation.

After migrating to the new Intel® Solid-State Drive, users can protect their investment in their new SSD by turning the old drive into a backup storage device.

"As Solid-State Drives become more pervasive in the market, customers will need a solution to migrate their data from their old hard drives to the new SSDs," said Izzy Azeri, vice president of Business and Corporate Development for Acronis. "Acronis' award-winning technologies provide a powerful and easy way to capture all the data-including the OS and settings- and migrate it to the new SSDs."

"The Intel Data Migration Software, powered by Acronis, makes the process of migrating to Intel Solid-State Drives faster and easier for both home and corporate users," said Troy Winslow, director of product marketing, Intel NAND Solutions Group. "Having a simple and accessible method to clone a user's existing drive, makes it that much easier for consumers to start experiencing the high performance of solid-state drive computing."

Intel SSD customers looking for a full-featured backup and recovery solution will have the option to upgrade to the popular Acronis True Image Home™ 2011 for a promotional rate through the Acronis web site.

Acronis True Image Home 2011 assures that all important data on a computer, including photos, videos, music, documents and applications, are fully protected and can be recovered quickly in the event of any disaster.

The popular website, 2010 Top Ten Reviews, stated: "For disk imaging (computer hard drive copying) we recommend Acronis True Image by Acronis. This disk imaging software is a powerful, versatile tool that can restore a copy to a single computer or to several computers at once. Acronis True Image performed the best of all the disk imaging programs we evaluated-this software was fast, error-free and fairly simple to use."

The intuitive graphical user interface defines where a user will be backing up their PC and how often. Users can create copies of their hard drive or SSD with just a few quick steps while continuing to work. If an important file is lost or needs to recover to an earlier version of it, the Time Explorer feature, can go back in time to retrieve it.
