Tape management

tape_eject_successful

--tape_eject_successful

If the parameter is specified, the software will eject tapes after each successful backup. Otherwise, tapes will not be ejected automatically.

tape_full_empty

--tape_full_empty

If the parameter is specified, each full backup will be written onto a free tape. Otherwise, the software will try to write a backup onto a tape containing backups of the same backup chain or archive. If not found, the software will try to use a free tape.

tape_move_back

--tape_move_back={on|off}

If the value is on or if the parameter is not specified, a tape will be moved back to the slot after using. If the value is off, a tape will remain in the drive after an operation with the tape is completed.

If this parameter is enabled and the --tape_eject_successful parameter is specified, the tape will be ejected.

tape_overwrite

--tape_overwrite

The parameter applies only to stand-alone tape drives. If the parameter is specified, a tape inserted into a drive will be overwritten every time a full backup is created.
