Updating the protection definitions in an air-gapped environment

You can update the protection definitions in air-gapped environments by using an auxiliary management server that has connection to the internet.

To update the protection definitions in an air-gapped environment

  1. Outside your air-gapped environment, install an Acronis Management Server that can access the Internet. For the purpose of this procedure, we will call this server the online management server.

For more information on how to do that, see Installing the management server.

  2. Download the protection definitions to the online management server and copy them to a removable storage device.

For more information on this step, see Downloading the protection definitions to an online management server.

  3. Transfer the definitions to an HTTP server in the air-gapped environment.

For more information on this step, see Transferring protection definitions to an HTTP server.

  4. Configure the management server in the air-gapped environment to use the HTTP server as the source for updated protection definitions.

For more information on this step, see Configuring the source of protection definitions on an air-gapped management server.
