Snapshots

Snapshots are initiated periodically with the snapshot agent on the client’s server and sent to the LCA. The server’s disk drives are copied at the physical block level with incremental differencing (deltas).

Each snapshot represents a point in time

from which data can be recovered,
from which servers can be restarted as replacement servers, or
from which the server can be restarted as a test server in a sandbox environment.

Snapshots are available for Local Recovery, Remote Recovery, and Archived servers, but not for Primary servers. Snapshots of protected primary servers are available as Local Recovery servers.
