The 2026 INDY NXT by Firestone season is set to begin on the Streets of St. Petersburg, Florida, on March 1. Acronis proudly offers its partners, HMD Motorsports and managed service provider (MSP) Helix Systems, best wishes for a successful season.

In just five years of full-time INDY NXT competition, HMD Motorsports has established itself as one of the most successful teams in the series with three championships and 32 race wins. The team has demonstrated consistent strength across all of the competition’s formats.

What is INDY NXT?

INDY NXT by Firestone is the final step drivers take before ascending to the highest level of North American open-wheel racing, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. INDY NXT puts emerging drivers in highly competitive environments that mirror INDYCAR race weekends.

The series features a diverse race schedule that includes street circuits, permanent road courses and high-speed ovals. Drivers compete on the same weekends as the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. As a result, they become accustomed to performing before large crowds and national broadcast audiences. With cars capable of reaching speeds near 180 mph, INDY NXT is a demanding circuit that requires drivers to demonstrate both physical endurance and mental precision.

A championship-caliber organization

HMD Motorsports has grown into a powerhouse within INDY NXT. Team owners Henry and Daiva Malukas have invested in infrastructure and personnel to ensure drivers have the tools needed to succeed.

That commitment has translated into championships, race victories and a steady pipeline of drivers progressing through the ranks of open-wheel racing. As the 2026 season begins, HMD once again has a deep and dynamic lineup.

2026 driver roster

For 2026, HMD Motorsports enters four full-time cars under its primary banner:

  • #45 – Jack Beeton: An 18-year-old talent who won the 2023 Formula 4 South East Asia championship and arrives eager for success following his stint in the Formula Regional European Championship.
  • #67 – Enzo Fittipaldi: Carrying on a storied racing family legacy, Fittipaldi brings Formula 2 wins, NTT INDYCAR SERIES testing experience, and a proven European track record to INDY NXT.
  • #17 – Salvador de Alba: A two-time NASCAR Mexico Series champion, de Alba scored his first INDY NXT victory at the Milwaukee Mile in 2025.
  • #71 – Tymek Kucharczyk: The young native of Poland is the reigning Euroformula Open champion and adds depth to HMD’s competitive lineup.

This fresh driver group reflects HMD’s commitment to recruiting talented racers from around the globe.

Strategic partnerships that elevate the game

In 2026, HMD’s influence extends beyond its own four-car effort. Through technical and strategic partnerships with Cusick Morgan Motorsports and AJ Foyt Racing, HMD is providing expertise, team management and support to additional entries.

Cusick Morgan Motorsports has competed in multiple Indianapolis 500 events, fueled by strong partnerships and a commitment to accessibility in motorsports. The two entries, supported by a technical alliance with HMD, will focus on building competitive driver programs and advancing through the development ladder.

AJ Foyt Racing, founded by one of the most historic and respected names in American open-wheel racing, links with HMD Motorsports in a Strategic Alliance. With multiple championships across the various sanctioning bodies of INDYCAR racing over the years, the team has built a legacy rooted in excellence, perseverance, and innovation.

Under these partnerships, HMD supports the following entries:

Cusick Morgan entries

  • #15 – Nicolas Stati
  • #68 – Juan Manuel Correa

AJ Foyt Racing entries

  • #4 – Nicholas Monteiro
  • #14 – Alessandro De Tullio

These collaborations bring HMD’s championship-caliber approach to a broader set of competitors and strengthen the field as a whole, reinforcing the team’s role as a leader in performance and driver development.

Looking ahead to 2026

The 2026 schedule features stops including St. Petersburg, the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Road America, and Laguna Seca. Each venue presents a unique challenge for the young HMD drivers.

With a legacy of success in its brief history, HMD Motorsports enters the new season positioned to compete at the front of the field once again. The year ahead promises intense racing and exciting milestones as the next generation of open-wheel talent takes center stage. Acronis wishes HMD the best of luck in 2026!
