Celebrating with NetFusion: A new robotics lab for ChildHope students in Costa Rica

Acronis and NetFusion joined forces to officially open a new STEAM robotics lab at ChildHope School in San José, Costa Rica, celebrating a project that reflects what’s possible when technology, partnership and community come together with a shared mission.

Acronis and NetFusion joined forces to officially open a new STEAM robotics lab at ChildHope School in San José, Costa Rica, celebrating a project that reflects what’s possible when technology, partnership and community come together with a shared mission.

This initiative, delivered through the Acronis Cyber Foundation #TeamUp Program, brings hands-on technology education to more than 230 students from underserved communities, helping expand access to digital skills and future opportunities. from underserved communities, helping expand access to digital skills and future opportunities.

A project built on partnership and purpose

Members of the Acronis team, including Jeff Danus and Kerry Ryan, joined NetFusion CEO Matt Daryoush, along with educators, students and partners, to mark the occasion and experience the impact firsthand.

This robotics lab was made possible through close collaboration between Acronis, NetFusion, nonprofit partner ChildHope Network and Costa Rica–based partner Eximo. Together, we set out to create more than a classroom. We wanted to create a space where students can explore, build and innovate.

The result is a fully equipped learning environment that includes robotics kits, computers and tablets, along with a dedicated teaching role to support long-term learning and growth.

Eximo also contributed backpacks and school supplies, helping ensure students have what they need to get started.

A classroom where ideas come to life

Students are already engaging with STEAM learning, an approach to learning that combines science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) in a hands-on way. This empowers young innovators to design projects, experiment with ideas and work together to solve problems. Through STEAM, they are developing technical skills as well as creativity, collaboration and confidence.

For many of these students, access to this kind of technology and learning environment was previously out of reach. Now, it is part of their everyday experience.

As Jeff Danus shared during the event, “When you walk into this classroom and see students building, experimenting and imagining what’s possible, you realize this is about much more than technology; it’s about unlocking potential.”

Continuing our mission to expand opportunity

This project is part of the broader Acronis Cyber Foundation Program, which focuses on expanding access to education and IT skills development around the world.

Through the Acronis Cyber Foundation #TeamUp Program, we work hand in hand with our partners to bring meaningful change to communities, building learning environments that empower students and support their future ambitions.
