We are looking for our new Head of the Security Team to join our mission to create a #CyberFit future and protect all data, applications and systems across any environment.

This role directly reports to our Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). You will be at the forefront of the fight against evolving cyber threats. This role turns curiosity into impact and it’s an opportunity to lead with purpose, inspire innovation, and make a lasting mark on cybersecurity at Acronis. You will be leading an international team of around 20 people and will be accountable for all aspects of security for our production and corporate environments.

WHAT YOU'LL DO  

 

  • Design, develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the organization’s information security strategy, policies, and procedures. 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO/IEC 27001).  

  • Oversee the deployment, integration, and initial configuration of all new security solutions.  

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Security team and other departments.  

  • Provide guidance to Product Management and R&D on security product requirements, customer expectations, and product roadmaps.  

  • Stay informed about the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.  

  • Develop and manage the Information Security department’s budget.  

  • Regularly report on the organization’s security status to senior management 

  • Interacts closely with teams of Research and Development as with other employees of the Company and within the Acronis Group, whose labor functions are directly related with the fulfillment of the responsibilities inherent for the current position.  

  • Manage an international team of accomplished security professionals across multiple time zones 

 

 

WHAT YOU BRING   

 

  • 10-15 years of experience in Information Security, with at least 6-8 years in a leadership or managerial role.  

  • Ability to analyze complex security issues, trends, and data, create actionable plans for new projects in close coordination with key stakeholders, and effectively communication rationale and progress to senior leadership. 

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present complex information security concepts to non-technical stakeholders. 

  • Strong understanding of technical and compliance issues for a SaaS and on-premise security product company.  

  • Proven experience in handling and leading incident response efforts, especially for critical incidents. 

  • Proven experience in overseeing and managing a bug bounty program, including coordination with external researchers, handling vulnerability reports, and ensuring proper remediation processes. This includes familiarity with bug bounty platforms, incentive structuring, and communication with the security community. 

  • High level of integrity and ethical behavior in handling sensitive and confidential information.  

  • Ability to develop long-term security strategies that align with business goals. 

  • Strong internal and external customer focus with desire to learn all aspects of the business. 

  • High level of discipline, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while still maintaining a high-level of accuracy. 

  • Outstanding organizational, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills. 

  • Collaborative, team-player with a commitment to succeed and never give up attitude. 

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
