We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Lead to join our Corporate Accounting team in Sofia, Bulgaria. In this role, you will support the accounts receivable cycle with a strong focus on collections and cash receipts. The Accounts Receivable Lead will partner closely with corporate accounting, sales, billings, and external customers to ensure timely payments, accurate account management, and efficient dispute resolution.
We are looking for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, deep AR process knowledge, and a proven ability to reduce aged receivables and improve cash flow. You will help drive collection strategies, coordinate team activities, and support ongoing process improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee daily AR operations for cash receipts, collections, cash forecasting, and AR aging management
- Improve AR processes, internal controls, and collections policies using automation and systematic tools
- Support credit checks and manage high-risk accounts
- Analyze AR data to identify risks, improve predictability, and support leadership decision-making
- Supervise an AR team with mentorship, goals, and targets
- Monitor and maintain the AR aging reports, flagging overdue accounts and coordinating resolution plans.
- Interact with customers regarding past due balances in a professional manner
- Partner with sales for dispute resolution and AR aging settlement
- Implement effective collections strategies to minimize DSO and improve cash flow
- Prepare weekly and monthly AR reports, including collection forecasts and trends
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 5+ years of Accounts Receivable experience in collections and AR management, including at least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role
- Technology or SaaS industry experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with Excel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high-volume operations in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and manage time to meet weekly and monthly deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Outstanding organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills
