Acronis is a global leader in cyber protection, delivering natively integrated solutions that monitor, control, and protect the data that businesses and lives depend on. Driven by our passion to protect every workload, we’ve built the industry’s only all-in-one cyber protection platform. We are looking for a Machine Learning Researcher to join us in protecting the digital world.
We are looking for a proactive Machine Learning Researcher to drive Acronis Products innovation, focusing on modern Agentic AI and intelligent automation. The ideal candidate combines strong research and implementation skills with an understanding of IT automation and cybersecurity challenges and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, globally distributed environment.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Research, prototype, and help ship AI/ML and agentic systems that improve the Acronis Cyber Protect platform across protection, recovery, management, and user workflows.
- Build intelligent automation and assistant-like experiences that help users and MSPs with configuration, troubleshooting, reporting, and “next best action” guidance.
- Develop and evaluate models for classification, recommendation, prediction, anomaly detection, and correlation using large-scale endpoint / workload / backup / management telemetry.
- Design robust datasets, labeling strategies, evaluation metrics, and offline/online experiments to measure impact and reduce false positives / noise.
- Partner with product, engineering, data, and domain experts to convert research into production-grade features with clear UX, guardrails, and measurable outcomes.
- Contribute to scalable data pipelines and MLOps practices for experimentation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Communicate results clearly via internal docs, demos, and presentations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Stay current with modern AI/ML (LLMs, RAG, agent frameworks, classical ML) and apply the right technique to real product problems.
- Work independently, owning problems end-to-end from idea → prototype → evaluation → rollout support.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Master’s in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years in applied AI/ML or research engineering delivering ML/LLM capabilities into real products.
- Strong foundation in ML + LLM methods (e.g., RAG, tool-use/agents) and knowing when not to use LLMs.
- Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks (PyTorch, HuggingFace, etc.).
- Experience with deployment on Azure AI / AWS Sage or Google Vertex AI will be a plus
- Worked with large, noisy telemetry/event data and possess strong data intuition and debugging skills.
- Familiarity with production concerns: reliability, monitoring, evaluation, cost/performance optimization, and safe rollout practices.
- Strong communication skills and comfort collaborating across functions (product, engineering, research).
