Acronis Cyber Frame is a hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) solution with native cyber protection. HCI combines compute, storage and networking in a software-defined system. Built with Virtuozzo on optimized OpenStack and KVM, Cyber Frame helps service providers grow their infrastructure business and corporate IT teams run and protect business workloads. ### How do Cloud and Local differ? Cloud runs in Acronis data centers with no hardware for you to deploy. Local provides a private cloud platform running on a service provider’s multi-node cluster or a compatible server at a customer site. Clusters require at least three nodes, with five or more recommended for production. ### Can I combine Cloud and Local deployments? Yes. Use Cloud and Local individually or together in a hybrid environment. Combine Acronis-hosted infrastructure, provider clusters and single-node deployments at customer sites to match each workload’s needs. Service providers can manage these environments through the same console. ### Can I get Cyber Frame directly from Acronis? Yes. IT departments can get Cyber Frame Cloud directly through Acronis Cyber Protect and explore it with a free trial. Both Cloud and Local are available through service providers. Local is not available through Acronis Cyber Protect. ### How does a single-node deployment recover after a server failure? A single-node deployment has no local failover. Configure Acronis Disaster Recovery for automated cloud failover with reserved capacity or restore cloud backups to Cyber Frame Cloud. Backup-based recovery takes longer and does not reserve capacity. Cloud recovery requires connectivity. ### Can I reuse an existing server for a single-node deployment? Yes, if the server meets product requirements. Your service provider can assess compatibility and plan the migration. Back up existing workloads before installing Cyber Frame Local, then restore the virtual machines to the single-node deployment. ### How does Cyber Frame protect virtual machines? Preinstalled Acronis agents bring backup, cybersecurity and RMM into virtual machine management. Apply protection policies to back up workloads, defend against malware and ransomware, investigate threats and monitor workload health. Configure disaster recovery to support cloud failover and recovery. ### Can I use Cyber Frame as a VMware replacement? Yes. Use guided migration from supported VMware and Azure environments to Cyber Frame Cloud or a Local cluster. Single-node Local deployments use backup and restore to move workloads from existing hosts. Your service provider can select the appropriate method for the source environment and destination. Choose an available regional Cloud location, a provider-operated Local cluster or a single-node Local deployment at your site. Set backup storage and recovery locations to match your data residency requirements, as these can differ from where production workloads run.
