G2 Grid Leader for Endpoint Protection Suites
Protect Proxmox VE with Acronis Cyber Platform
Proxmox VE has become the go-to open-source hypervisor for cost-efficient virtualization and containerization.
Yet existing tools leave gaps: limited storage support, agent-based jobs add overhead, home-grown scripts become hard to maintain and a unified view of VM and container backups is missing.
Acronis solves these issues with an agentless, scalable and secure approach that safeguards Proxmox VE virtual machines and LXC containers from a single console.
Comprehensive backup and recovery for Proxmox VE
Acronis delivers a complete solution for protecting Proxmox environments — from advanced features and flexible storage to agentless backups that boost performance and simplify management.
Benefits of agentless backup for Proxmox VE
With agentless backup for Proxmox VE, Acronis streamlines protection, boosts performance, and simplifies management — delivering secure, efficient, and consistent backups across all workloads without adding complexity
- No hypervisor overheadThe agentless design taps native Proxmox APIs, so nothing runs inside each VM or container. CPU and RAM stay focused on production workloads, keeping VMs inside the Proxmox hypervisor fast even during large Proxmox VM backup jobs.
- Tighter RPOs and RTOsForever-incremental backups and granular recovery cut backup windows and recovery times, meeting strict SLAs for Proxmox backup and restore.
- One solution for every workloadAcronis protects VMware, Hyper-V, physical servers and now Proxmox VE, covering full virtual machines and granular LXC container backup in the same plan. This ends tool sprawl and streamlines multiplatform Proxmox backup solutions.
- Flexible, secure storageSend data to local disks, SMB / NFS shares, Acronis Cloud or any S3/Azure target for resilient Proxmox cloud backup. Immutability, anti-malware scanning and FIPS 140-2 encryption keep archives safe and compliant.
- Consistent protection across all workloadsHost-level policies auto-apply to new VMs and containers, eliminating gaps and ensuring every test or production environment remains covered by the same trusted Proxmox backup software.
- Easy roll-out and upkeepAdd one host and the platform auto-discovers every guest. You manage updates from a single console instead of patching a separate Proxmox backup client on every machine — ideal for MSPs that need hands-off Proxmox backup software.
