Installing Acronis True Image

To install Acronis True Image

1. Download the Acronis True Image setup file from the Acronis website at https://go.acronis.com/true-image.

2. Run the setup file.

   Before starting the setup process, Acronis True Image will check for a newer build on the website. If there is one, the newer version will be offered for installation.

3. Select the installation mode:

   • Click Install for the default installation.

   • Click Custom installation to choose the required components.

     • Backup and core protection. This component is essential for:

       • Backing up data
       • Recovering data
       • Vulnerability assessment
       • Archiving data
       • Sharing data
       • Disk cloning and migration
       • Tools

     • Anti-ransomware protection, Cryptomining detection, and Videoconference protection. For more information, see Active protection.

     • Real-time protection, Antivirus scan, and Web filtering. For more information, see Active protection and Antivirus scans.

     • Try&Decide tool. If you're using the Memory integrity feature of Windows, do not install this component to avoid compatibility issues. For more information, see Try&Decide.

   If you install only Backup and core protection (without Active Protection / Real-time protection), the Protection area may show that Active Protection is turned off and may display prompts to install the missing protection components.

   Acronis True Image will be installed on your system partition (usually C:).

4. When the installation is complete, click Start application.
5. Read and accept the terms of the license agreement.
6. [Optional] Allow Acronis to collect de-identified service usage information for analyzing and improving the service

   If you agree to participate, Acronis will anonymously collect technical information to improve Acronis True Image. Personal data, such as name, address, phone number, email address, and keyboard input, will not be collected.

7. In the Activation window, you can do one of the following:

   • To activate Acronis True Image, enter your serial number, and then click Activate. The product will be activated.

   • To sign in to your Acronis account, click Sign in. See Acronis account for details.

   • To use the trial version, click Start trial.
