Error handling

Error Handling is a section in backup settings. In this section, you can configure Repeat backup attempts for failed backups.

To configure Repeat backup attempts

  1. In backup settings, open the Error Handling section.
  2. In this section, configure the following options:

    • Repeat backup attempts - Enables automatic retry after a failed backup attempt.
    • Number of attempts - Sets the maximum number of retry attempts.
    • Time interval between attempts - Sets how long Acronis True Image waits before the next retry.

If you enable Repeat backup attempts, you can close Acronis True Image while backup is running. The backup continues in the background. If your computer shuts down, the backup will continue automatically after the next startup.

If you do not enable Repeat backup attempts, you can still close Acronis True Image during backup, and the backup will continue in the background. But if the computer shuts down, you need to start the backup again manually.

If a backup attempt fails, Acronis True Image waits for the configured interval and retries. If all attempts fail, the backup operation is marked as failed.
