Managing files in Quarantine

Quarantine is an isolated place to store infected and suspected files that were detected.

Files in quarantine cannot affect your system while they remain there.

To manage files in Quarantine

  1. On the Protection dashboard, in the left panel, click Quarantine.
  2. Select an item.
  3. Choose what to do with the item:

    • Restore — returns the item to its original location and adds it to Protection exclusions. Use this option if you are sure that the item is safe.
    • Restore to... — restores the item to another location. Use this option if you want to inspect the item before returning it to its original location.
    • Delete — removes the item from your Mac. Use this option if you no longer need the item.
