Global search result types
The following table lists the types of items that global search finds, in the order of the result groups, with what each result shows and the page where it opens.
| Result type | What the result shows | Where the result opens |
|---|---|---|
| Menu items: the items and groups of the navigation menu | The name of the menu item and its path in the menu | The page of the menu item. A menu group opens its first item. |
| Clients: all tenants – partners, customers, folders, and units | The name of the tenant and its parent tenant, or My company. The icon shows the kind of tenant. A deleted tenant appears dimmed with a Deleted badge, and you cannot open it. | The Clients page with the details of the tenant |
| Users | The name of the user, the Me badge on your own user account, and the tenant that owns the user. A deleted user appears dimmed with a Deleted badge, and you cannot open it. | The Clients page with the details of the tenant that owns the user, and the details of the user in a side sheet. |
| Assets: managed devices | The device name and the client that owns the device | The Assets page with the details of the device |
| Tickets: Service Desk tickets | The ticket ID and title, as #<ticket ID> · <ticket title>, and the client that owns the ticket | The details of the ticket in Service Desk |
For menu items, search matches any part of the name of a menu item or menu group, and the case of the letters does not matter. Search does not match tabs and pages inside an area. For assets, search matches the device name.
