Backup in partner protection plans

As a partner administrator, you can configure and enforce backup settings across workloads that belong to multiple customers.

The following table describes backup settings that are applicable to partner-level protection plans.

Where to back up

Cloud storage.

The backups are stored in the cloud storage that is assigned to the customer that owns the workload.

Encryption

Always enabled.

AES-256 encryption with a separate password for each customer. For more information, see Configuring encryption in a partner protection plan.

Application backup Not supported
Backup options All options are supported, except Log truncation.
Continuous data protection (CDP) Supported (selection rules only)

Limitations

  • Only workloads with an installed agent are supported. Virtual machines that are backed up agentlessly are not supported.
  • Unit-level plans are not supported.
  • The Run now action is available only when you select a specific customer. It is not available when you select All customers.
