Finalizing a virtual machine running from a backup

You can make a virtual machine that is running from a backup permanent, by finalizing it.

To finalize a virtual machine that is running from a backup (Instant Restore)

VMware ESXi

  1. In the Cyber Protect console, select a machine that is running from a backup.
  2. In Actions, click Finalize.
  3. Specify a name for the permanent virtual machine.
  4. Select the disk provisioning mode.
  5. Click Finalize.

Microsoft Hyper-V

  1. In the Cyber Protect console, select a machine that is running from a backup.
  2. In Actions, click Finalize.
  3. Specify a name for the permanent virtual machine.
  4. Click Finalize.

Proxmox VE

  1. In the Cyber Protect console, select a machine that is running from a backup.
  2. In Actions, click Finalize.
  3. Specify a name for the permanent virtual machine.
  4. Click Finalize.
