South San Francisco, CA April 4, 2002
Acronis Inc., the technological leader in system software
development, today announced the immediate availability of Acronis
True Image Deluxe in North America, and unveiled its special offer
to Norton Ghost® customers featuring an 80-percent conversion
discount. Acronis True Image Deluxe is a superior hard drive
imaging solution that creates exact images of a hard disk which
allow PC users to restore a defective hard drive in seconds, or
quickly upgrade to a new PC with a few keystrokes.
Unlike other products on the market, Acronis
True Image Deluxe allows PC users to capture hard drive images
instantly "online", meaning in Windows® without annoying reboots or
having to boot down to DOS or another operating system.
Better than ordinary file backup software,
Acronis True Image Deluxe captures exact images of individual
partitions, including all data, applications and operating systems,
and allows them to be restored on the same or different PC after a
fatal software or hardware failure.
With its North American release, Acronis True
Image Deluxe instantly becomes the most attractive hard drive
imaging solution on the market, due to its exclusive "online" hard
drive imaging technology and unique feature set that offers:
- The ability to create and restore complete disk images online in Windows without annoying reboots in DOS or other operating systems
- The ability to mount partitions stored in a disk image as the logical drive in Windows so PC users can explore the archive and/or restore separate files
- A user-friendly, Windows XP-like wizard that makes it easy for beginners and experts alike to capture a drive image and restore it at any time
As a demonstration of its belief that Acronis
True Image Deluxe makes complete data protection much easier and
reliable, Acronis is offering a limited, one-time conversion
discount to users of Norton Ghost®. These customers are eligible to
purchase Acronis True Image Deluxe for $9.99, over 80 percent off
of the retail price, for the next 30 days in order to realize its
advanced technology and usability.
"For years users have struggled with existing
hard drive imaging technologies that are not adequate since they
are very difficult to use, require reboot and advanced technical
knowledge for configuration", said Maxim Tsypliaev, president of
Acronis. "That is why we are confident that our competitive
offering for Norton Ghost® customers will deliver a great
response."
Acronis True Image Deluxe software can be
installed on a number of computer platforms, including Windows XP,
Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows NT, Windows 95 / 98. It also
supports leading file systems including FAT 16/32 and NFTS, and
Linux Ext2, Ext3 and ReiserFS.
