This release brings significant updates to the offering items and in the billing metrics. Prior to upgrading, make sure to run a pre-check as explained in the corresponding Knowledge Base article. Based on the pre-check results, you might need to update your Acronis product and template configuration in WHMCS.

What's new

Improved template management

The new version introduces improvements to the template configuration process by offering the convenience of selecting a pre-configured template from an internal library of frequently used options. Additionally, users can now copy existing templates, thus facilitating the creation of new templates that need minimal adjustments.

New Acronis products support

The following products and services are now supported:

  • Network-attached storages (NAS)—Allows standard protection for Synology Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices: file backup, centralized management of protection plans, dashboards, and reports.
  • Geo-redundant storage—Increases the durability of stored data by asynchronously copying it to a secondary region that is geographically distant to the primary region. For more information on geo-redundancy, see Geo-redundant storage.

  • Group management for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace—Allows advanced protection for Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace seats: cloud applications backup plans that use custom groups (static or dynamic) and/or custom backup frequency.

  • Microsoft 365 collaboration apps seats—Allows protection of M365 OneDrive, SharePoint, and Teams against content-borne threats.

Modified Acronis products

As of the January 2024 release of Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, the endpoint detection and response (EDR) functionality has been merged into the Advanced Security pack. The module has been updated to remove redundant product and keep the newly merged Advanced Security + EDR product. For further details, please refer to https://kb.acronis.com/content/73300.

Decommissioned products

The following products and services are no longer available for ordering:

  • Notary
  • VoIP telephony by Omnivoice

Security hardening

Two-factor (2FA) authentication has been made the default pre-selected option when creating a new template.

New languages support

The Japanese language is now supported in the module's user interface.

Latest WHMCS version support

WHMCS version 8.8.0 is now supported.

Other

  • Storage usage calculation accuracy has been improved.
  • The Cyber Protection (per GB) Local storage option has been renamed Cyber Protection (per GB) Customer storage, to account for Amazon S3 and Microsoft Azure object storages.

This update features:

Important note

This release brings significant updates in the billing metrics. Prior to upgrading, run a pre-check as explained here. Also note that based on the pre-check result, you might need to update your Acronis product configuration in WHMCS.

Post-upgrade, run the following maintenance tasks to ensure that the module works smoothly:

  • Go to the add-on modules admin screen (System Settings → Addon Modules) to allow the integration to finalize the upgrade.
  • Run a Template Cache cleanup (Utilities → System → System Cleanup) to ensure all new offering items are properly displayed on the product configuration screen.
  • Manually run all cron jobs to make sure that the new billing metrics are properly synchronized with the usage reports.

After upgrading to WHMCS 2.7, the Advanced packs pricing have to be reconfigured since this release updates the offering items.

    1. Added new billing metrics for own service provider storage. You can now bill separately your own storage and the one, registered by your partner. The new available metrics are as follows:

    2. Updates in configurable items' naming to match billing metrics.
    3. Updates in the Client and Admin areas to match Cyber Platform naming conventions.
    4. Improvement in the service template management, the following was added:
      • Support for management and security settings' edit in already created templates.
      • Support upgrade between templates with different management and security settings.
      • Support upgrade to a template when the tenant's management or security settings have been modified in the Acronis Cyber platform.
  • Client area improvements
    • Improvement that displays the PAYG items currently in use

Version 2.6

This update brings improvements to the Acronis product configuration in WHMCS, updated usage calculation for some billing metrics to support the latest Acronis price list as well as a number of bug fixes and updates of the integration module internal libraries.

What's new

  • Acronis product configuration in WHMCS
    1. Service providers can now choose whether the Acronis product name should be part of the provisioned tenant name. This system-wide setting is controlled via the integration configuration file.
    2. Unit names for Acronis billing metrics have been updated according to the company price list.
    3. Only billing metrics, related to the Acronis template used, are now displayed on the Module Settings tab during product configuration. The service provider can monitor all metrics by switching the "Show all usage metrics" setting ON.
  • Billing metrics and usage updates
    1. Usage calculation has been updated for the metrics below to support new Acronis data centers from price groups 2 and 3.

Version 2.4

This update of Acronis Cyber Cloud module for WHMCS brings support for a new advanced licensing.

What's new

  1. Advanced licensing
    • Added support for new Cyber Cloud Protect (available both in per gigabyte and per workload billing modes).
    • Added support for Advanced Security, Advanced Management, Advanced Backup and Advanced Disaster Recovery packs.
    • Usage billing is supported for new products.
    • Previous additions can still be managed via WHMCS, but are now marked as legacy.
    • It is possible to switch from legacy editions to the new Cyber Cloud Protect.
      • For partner tenants: new services should be added to the existing template/product. This will allow partners to move their customers from legacy editions to the new Cyber Cloud Protect. Once all customers are switched, the partner can upgrade to the product without legacy editions (if required).
      • For customer tenants: new template and product should be configured (with appropriate quotas and configuration options). Customers can then upgrade to a new product.
    • Limitations:
      • Usage for included (free) features is not supported in the current release.
      • Switching from new Cyber Cloud Protect to legacy editions is not supported.
      • Switching for end customers can be done only via upgrade from legacy to new template. Switching via reconfiguration of existing customer template is not supported.
  2. Template wizard improvements
    It is now possible to define all the settings available during tenant creation in the Acronis Management Portal.
    • The mode setting defines whether the customer will be created in trial or in production mode. This setting is applicable only for customer account type.
    • The Management mode setting manages the access to the tenant (self-service or managed by service provider).
    • Two-factor authentication enables 2FA for the tenant. If turned on, all users will require two-factor authentication setup.
    • Enhanced security mode defines whether to use encryption for all backups. This setting is applicable for the customer account type only.
