Acronis True Image takes the "disaster" out of disaster recovery; ensures data integrity and point-in-time restores
MARCH 13, 2006, Burlington, MA Acronis, Inc., the technological leader in storage management software, announced that New Mexico Software, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: NMXC, http://www.nmxc.net) has begun incorporating the corporate family of Acronis True Image software with its enterprise-class physical and web-based solutions for managing documents, medical records and digital assets. The company will display the system at the ITEX trade show in Las Vegas later this week. (See Booth 1016, Las Vegas Convention Center, March 14-16).
New Mexico Software plans to integrate the Acronis True Image family in conjunction with both its newly released TORC Backup Server, a backup and disaster recovery solution for every notebook or desktop on a company's network, and the DFC3, or Digital Filing Cabinet Version 3, an embedded software server or web service document, digital asset and electronic records management solution for various industries to improve the interface between paper and digital data.
"We see Acronis True Image as an ideal, complementary technology for our CDP offerings," said Troy Lapsys, president of the Server Division at New Mexico Software. "Our technology can store, organize, read and distribute unstructured information such as images, video files and paper documents and automatically integrate the information with formatted data fields in a variety of other applications, including popular accounting and supply-chain programs. Using a world-class disk imaging system in conjunction with our document management system and backup servers, we provide a complete solution for enterprise customers."
"Computer industry analysts estimate that some 60 percent of all corporate data exists only on desktop and laptop computers," said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Incorporating Acronis True Image with New Mexico Software backup server is the ideal solution to capture that corporate data and ensure that it is not lost. While traditional server backups are effective for protecting server data, every company should have a combination of server and workstation backup plans."
"The New Mexico Software TORC Backup Server and the DFC3 solution provides users with exceptional business continuity solutions and Acronis True Image will allow users to meet their recovery point objectives," said Luis Andrade, director of OEM sales and new business development for Acronis. "Not only will the New Mexico Software and Acronis solutions allow users to do full bare-metal restores, but Acronis also allows the user to select a point-in-time restore using a combination of full, incremental and differential backup images. This hardware/software combination is sure to become a must-have solution for servers and workstations.
New Mexico Software will market the entire line of Acronis' corporate products, including Acronis True Image Enterprise Server, Acronis True Image Server for Windows, Acronis True Image Server for Linux, and Acronis True Image Workstation. Terms of the agreement were not released.
