Acronis sets a new standard in system utilities design, usability and performance

South San Francisco, CA, August 29, 2002 — Acronis today unveiled its new line of system utility software, and announced new design and technology innovations that promise to make system utilities much easier for PC users at all levels to understand and use. The new Acronis system utilities include one-click Windows XP-styled user interfaces that make program operation and navigation simple. They also include easy-to-follow wizards that ensure users complete their desired tasks successfully. The new Acronis system utilities, five total, will be available on September 5 in leading retail stores throughout North American and online at www.acronis.com.

"Acronis is the new standard in system utility products," said Dennis Burke, director of business development at Acronis. "For years, there has been little innovation in this category, especially in design and interfaces, thus the products have been very difficult to understand and operate for most computer users. For instance, some products still run on DOS and other antiquated platforms, and only a handful of computer users are going to pay good money for outdated technology. Acronis products are developed using the most innovative technology available, and they are far superior, and much easier to use, than existing system utilities."

Acronis is known as a technology leader in areas such as hard disk management, multi-boot technology, data migration, system backup and other core system areas. But with the release of the five new system utility titles today, Acronis also becomes the leader in system utility performance, usability and design.

The new Acronis system utilities are also extremely flexible. They allow inexperienced and novice PC users to operate in "automatic" mode and work with program wizards to quickly and easily complete desired tasks. And more advanced PC users, even professionals, can work in "manual" mode and have greater control over their Acronis products.

The new Acronis line-up includes:

Acronis Privacy Expert 2003, a powerful privacy utility that securely obliterates PC user's computing and surfing traces. And unlike many products that merely delete files and data, Privacy Expert completely wipes files clean, including free disk space, thus guaranteeing the data can never be recovered or accessed.
