Multiplied Media standardizes on Acronis True Image Enterprise Server

BURLINGTON, Mass., February 20, 2008 - Commwave (www.acronis.com/ko-kr/), a provider of affordable, scalable storage management and disaster recovery software, today announced that Multiplied Media (TSX-V: MMC), of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is relying on Acronis True Image software to protect four physical servers and more than 10 virtual servers that run the company's instant message search service.

Multiplied Media (www.multiplied.com) uses Acronis True Image 9.1 Enterprise Server to backup and recover programs and information to keep its business operating 24/7. Customers of the company's Poynt local search service can send a message and immediately find the name and address of the nearest businesses. It is therefore critical that the service always be available.

With Acronis True Image 9.1, Multiplied Media can quickly capture a hardware image then restore it to dissimilar hardware - a fast and easy way to ensure information is always available. Acronis True Image also helps increase hardware utilization for better datacenter ROI by backing up both physical and virtual computers.

In many organizations, only 10-20 percent of a server's total capacity is used at any one time.* By deploying a virtualization solution and running multiple operating systems on a single server, Multiplied Media is reducing the number of physical servers required by increasing the utilization of existing servers.

"When we decided to virtualize our data center, Acronis True Image proved to be the perfect complement for backup and recovery," said Clare McMullen, vice president, Operations, Multiplied Media. "Other products we tested did not have the ability to capture the hardware image, virtualize it and then restore it to dissimilar hardware. It is a complex job that Acronis does well."

Odyssey Consulting Group of Long Beach, Calif., was brought in during the early network planning phases along with Multiplied Media's strategic design partner iDesign. "We discussed going virtual early in the development phases as it gave Multiplied Media the flexibility it needed to support developers and engineers world wide," said Stephen L Rose, network architect and partner at Odyssey. "The Acronis product was the best choice to take Multiplied Media's Microsoft Virtual Server development environments and turn them into standardized physical production servers. Acronis True Image Enterprise Server's ease of use and reliability has been proven time and again. It's a staple in my virtualization toolbox."

"Acronis True Image had all the features Multiplied Media required to keep its business up and running and to handle all of its migration needs," said Walter Scott, CEO of Acronis. "Businesses of all sizes need to have a proactive plan to ensure information is protected and can be quickly recovered in the wake of an unforeseen system crash or other disaster, regardless of whether the hardware involved is physical or virtual."

Multiplied Media Corp. (www.multiplied.com) has developed Poynt, the first multimedia local search service available over Microsoft's Windows Live Messenger and AOL's AIM instant messaging networks.
